How is this a "Canada" thing? The IIHF decided on the rules, as witnessed by tournaments OUTSIDE of Canada being cancelled as well. The entire NHL isn't sending NHL players, not just Team Canada. And the NHL is the one that didn't want to lose ticket revenue in half empty buildings, not Canada.

Your entire post is out of left field and you'd expect better from a global mod than to turn this into a "bash Canada" thread.

Aren't the hospitals overwhelming with vaccinated people also?

People don't really realize or understand that it's pure math why hospitals are also filling up with vaccinated people also. I made an easy to observe picture of covid cases among vaccinated and not vaccinated people. Pic shows what happens when 100 random people get covid. Decrease in hospitalizations is obvious the higher the vaccination rate is.What this picture doesn't tell is that vaccination does decrease the rate at which the disease transmits from person to person.

So people can be upset or whatever of the vaccination but the more people get vaccinated the less there are people with symptoms leading to hospitalization or even worse.

Ps. I do not know the real numbers of how many need to go to hospital after covid, but the not vaccinated people do have about 3-6,5 times higher chance of needing hospital compared to vaccinated.

Edit: I have been misinformed, the hospitalization rate is about 12-18 times higher in unvaccinated people and Covid case rates are 3-7 times higher with unvaccinated peolpe according to this https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Do...-tables/421-010-CasesInNotFullyVaccinated.pdf
It still doesn't change the idea of the pic, there just shouldn't be as many hospitalizations in vaccinated people.
