Putting their health at risk? This is the problem; they are vaccinated, Young and healthy. They aren’t at risk, they aren’t even sick.

now you perfectly described all super-spreaders who once return back home to their families, bring to show their medals to their elderly grandparents who are already in group of risk. Alex Ciernik who didnt make team Slovakia this year, lost both his granddads due to Covid. One was my former neighbour. Many others I knew passed away, too.

We also dont know nothing yet about post-covid impact on players health. What if excess physical activity during covid causing a damage to heart muscle ? This alone can cut short career of any young athlete. Is it worth the risk ? Friend of mine lost his 40yo brother who overcame covid, hurried up back to work and few days later his weakened heart stopped due to inflammation of the heart muscle.

Because you literally asked "why are there so many more antivaxers here than in society?"
Which
1. Can't be proven
And
2. Is definitely an arguing point in general.
1 is a fair point, I wanted to see if people shared the same feeling I was getting from this thread and I guess they didn't

Perfect microcosm of society. Cancelling a tournament for absolutely no sick people. IIHF is a joke, protocols are a joke, and this is exactly what everyone involved in this farce, mainly Canada, deserves. NO hockey tournaments should be held anywhere near Canada since they will never stop.

I think the word approval is what I am stuck on. Approval is active. IIHF is subject to local rules. In this case local rules are not more strict then IIHF, so they are somewhat irrelevant.

There are two things here. The close contact quarantine rules that actually caused the tournament to be cancelled. People may disagree with them but they are in line with most countries and international organisations.

The lack of a bubble is the second thing. IIHF should have enforced one. To my knowledge no government enforces them as it is not their place. It was incredibly stupid not to have one.
I was responding to your first post where you questioned health authorities approve a tourney. That is the reality in Canada now
I'm sure more will come out in the next few days, but I'm pretty sure health authorities approved the IIHF plan so that is why I'm saying no one is blameless here....

Update: BTW, the IIHF just released a formal statement, the protocols were put in place by IIHF, Alberta Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada. So the health officials approved the protocols. Its puzzling to me they approved protocols that were doomed to fail...

McKenzie on TSN just said the medical and doctor personnel of the IIHF basically said more positive tests will happen so they cancelled.

learn not to make dumb comments, and you won't have to worry about defending yourself.

Life 101
Yeah but that's the issue, I made a harmless comment (imo) based on what I was seeing, and I wanted to see how others felt about it. If someone disagrees they can simply say so instead of attacking me. Not sure why people are so heated here

Would’ve been the best moment in many of these young kids careers. Feel horrible for them. Also the best time of year for hockey fans ruined . All because the morons at the IIHF can’t figure out how to put some basic protocols in place.

The entire Olympics is next...we may get this tournament along with Olympic hockey in the summer

I would love to see a summer world hockey series.

Bring together the mens and women's Olympics.

And both men's and women's junior trounaments into the same two venues over a 4 week time frame

You do realize that anybody can be a Karen right? Man, woman, any race. It's not a white suburban woman, it's a mentality.

I prefer to dole out a "Bye, Felicia" instead of an "Ok, Karen". Don't want to give any false sense of acceptance ;)
