Finland tried an epic comeback and nearly did it.

Major kudos to the Finnish team. Many teams would have just laid flat going in the 3rd period.

The win was basically an hairline finish with the Finnish just coming short of a goal.

Lots of Sisu.
I don't know what you mean with Sisu because to me it is Finnish candy.
But yeah great comeback for us which showed strong mental thoughness.

I'm not even disappointed.
And i don't shame to say this but i will always take Olympic gold first
because we can compete U20 WJC gold every goddamn year but Olympics are once in 4 years.

And because that Beijing's mens hockey gold was our first one it is so much more valuable
than any of ours 5 U20 WJC golds yes that Olympic gold was winned with KHL and other EU players
but it is Olympic gold still.

Finland newswriters are beyond cocky when they win against a Sweden. Finland with a full team and Sweden with the best players not there. Finland deserve resent success, but i just hate winners acting like that.

Still hoped Finland would have won.
I didn't see Finnish newswriters being cocky after that Sweden win.

It's a reference to the mad respect the Leafs received in their game 7 loss to TB.ni
Thats funny lol didn't catch that.....Niemala does deserve kudos for that game didn't think overall he had a great tournament (at least not what was expected) Hirovonen looked great against the weak teams.... still decent prospect but in the big games he didn't stand out would be my take

You're Finnish but don't know what sisu means?

Sisu basically means "strength of will, determination, perseverance", so yeah pretty much what you said.

It's a pretty common word used when talking Finnish people (not only in hockey) so it's pretty weird to me you don't know what it is. I've seen it used pretty much everywhere related to Finland.

I don't know about you
but i'm not disappointed at all because i knew that already Canada will win this game
they were so clear number 1 gold favorite as ever was possible.
It's weird for me that some people watch hockey with this mentality. Especially Finnish person after what Finland has done in past few years.

After exhausting start, clear juggernaut number 1 gold favorite was worse team on the ice about 40 minutes tonight in my opinion and call me a cryer, but with equal refereeing, would have lost this game.

That guy has the weirdest comments really. And quite arrogant often too. I think that maybe was his way to belittle the thing that we Finns call sisu. Well, who cares what he really meant. But he really has the weirdest comments and some strange logic and humor.

Didn't see the game but am impressed Finn's came back from 2-0 down to push OT and that McTavish save was pure magic.

So what are the Canuck results this year? They won Hlinka and U20. Didn't they win U18 too? Was world's a silver? It's a hell of a run!

Yeah, almost as impressive as Finlands this year ;)

Two powerhouses indeed.

They didn’t get even a medal in the U18 WJC. But sure, otherwise a very impressive season for Canada.

Hard to equally ref when one team is blatantly taking penalties. My favorite was the gloved puck penalty. Dumbest play i have seen in a long time. LOL

McTavish should have gotten a penalty shot. The Canada penalty on the Finns partial breakaway was a pure makeup call and not a penalty. After that one, the Canadians played passive and were scared to hit.

Finns were undisciplined and much of it was due to the Canadian's attack. Canada had the better chances in the game period.
