Shaun Anderson is an interesting case because he clearly has some pedigree but nobody can tap into that fastball/slider potential. Would be nice if he actually threw the fastball though as it seems players were just sitting slider the entire time. The FB velo however was... underwhelming. He touched 97 last season but was sitting 91-92 last night.

Biggest stretch of the season these 8 games

This comment speaks louder than you think, if we are in a show me what you go stretch and we are not even 50% through the season, that probably tells you this team is in trouble. You don't need to see the next 8 (7 now ) games to tell you what this team is. Without some serious changes this team won't make it past game 162.

The Braves were trash when AA got hired as the GM there. Hadn't won a playoff series in a long time, too

Now they're a great team with a solid farm/drafting system. Oh and they also won the world series last year

You're considerably underselling the parts AA inherited. Freeman, Albies, Swanson, Riley, Acuna, Fried, Anderson, etc. were all part of the Braves system before AA signed in 2017.

Interestingly enough the Jays are 36-24 against non-Yankee teams. The Yanks however have been a thorn in everybody's side (9-4 against O's, 8-4 against Jays, 7-3 against Rays, 2-1 SSS against Red Sox) but there isn't a big enough sample to indicate that the Jays are on the ropes. They've been strong against the Red Sox, and competitive against the Rays. I'd be more worried about that west coast trip to Oakland/Seattle, but the bright side is the Jays only have 7 more games this season against the Yanks. The Red Sox have another 16 games against them to go along with a stretch of Yanks-Rays-Yanks-Rays next month before heading into the all-star break.

If I told you before the season started that the Jays would only have three reliable starters and that one of them would be Stripling…

Stripling has done very well outside of that double in the last inning and I don’t like pulling him after 5 on 80 pitches to go to the struggling bullpen.

I love Teoscar and he seems like such a good guy but he has a major mistake like this on the bases or in the field every 10 games or so where he just spaces out and mentally isn’t in the game. And these aren’t the sort of mistakes you can have happen that regularly on a true contender.
