I am still baffled they were playing so f***ing deep on JP Crawford. Like if they just play him straight up Springer likely catches that in a light jog and doesn't get his head taken off.
All the small things conspired against them today.

The bullpen has been a known issue since the 2020 season and management has refused to adequately address it. You go up 7 runs in a playoff game and score 9 runs in total you should win the f***ing game. But God forbid they spend on arms or actually trade high end prospects.

Core is 0-4 in playoff games. Schneider taking out Gausman for Mayza is un-f***ing-forgivable.
Especially after he got 2 straight outs. He battles through that inning and you know he was going to get that 3rd out. Bad pitching change in my opinion.

Guess I won't have to worry about finding stall tactics watching the game tomorrow when we should be heading out for Thanksgiving dinner. :(

He gets a lot out of an above average roster.

Tampa isn’t expected to contend the same way.

But yes, he’s not completely safe either.
Kevin Cash isn't going anywhere because the Rays are a smart organization that realize you don't fire a winning manager over 2 playoff games.

You don't follow baseball closely if you think the Rays aren't expected to contend...who do you think has run the AL East the past few seasons?

You dolts watched Montoyo for how many years and then finally get a manager that the team won at a 100+ win rate for and you wanna fire him over 2 games? LOL

This was actually worse than any collapse the Leafs had believe it or not.
I dont know. Baseball doesn't have any time. Leafs lost a 3 goal lead in 10 minutes. Both were really bad though.
Well, the 4-1 lead to Boston heading to the third period was worse for me somehow lol
I agree. Baseball doesn't have any time. Leafs lost a 3 goal lead in 10 minutes. Just look at the cards last night. Most sports you wouldnt lose a lead late like that because time would run out

I didn’t say I want him fired, I said he might’ve submarined his career. That’s just an observation. Pressure will be on Atkins this offseason. That makes people do things that they might not necessarily do.

And no, the Rays aren’t expected to contend in the same way. Everyone knows they run on a tight budget and just getting in is a huge success for them, relatively speaking.

The Leafs current core has blown:

3-2 series leads to Boston and Tampa
3-1 series lead to Montreal (heavy favourites in the series)
Didn't even qualify for the postseason by losing to the Blue Jackets (again heavy favourites)

On top of a 4-1 choke in period 3 of game 7 which was less than a decade ago by a previous core

I don't know if this is some weird copium for Leaf fans to justify their horrid team but what the Jays have done is nothing close.
