Buck, how is it a question who pitches tomorrow?

If they don't put Gausman out there with the season on the line theres some serious malpractice

Agreed, although to be devil's advocate, it really depends on what state his finger is in. Well have to pitch both guys to win the series anyway and if the extra day of rest can help Gausman's finger heal...

I don't see how an "interim" coach would not go with Gausman. That's the guy your GM paid to get last winter. You have to use him 100%.

Ballgame. Ugly way to go out.

Gonna be real interesting to see how the Jays respond. This isn't like other series where you have 4 games to figure your shit out. You just got punched in the mouth and now have roughly 18 hours to regroup and reload. Oh and your season is on the line.

Positives: Kevin Gausman, unlike Manoah has taken the mound in the postseason before. The Jays in theory should also know Robbie Ray pretty well given he was their teammate last season.

It ain't over yet. Definitely doesn't look great, but it's not over.

I think Vladdy and Bo are a combined like 2/22 in the postseason through their first three games going back to two years ago against Tampa.
They're just very young kids who might need more time to learn what it takes to win in the playoffs or they might be playoff duds .....only time will tell

they need a bit of offense early on to loosen them up and remind them that they can put up runs at will.

I like the matchup against Ray though. Lefty who will have to face a lineup full of right handed bats and the Jays obviously know Ray like a book. He’s not the Ray as 2021 either

Twice now. Seattle had 0 whiffs on Gausman’s fastball earlier in the season and now had zero whiffs on Manoah’s fastball today.

Either the Jays are tipping pitchers or Seattle is (legally) stealing signs.

How do u steal signs nowadays since it's all digital comms.

I knew what it was going to be. Good pitching shuts down good offense. If Jays stumbled against their two aces going to be bad.

Playoffs in any sport is different. Castillo came in and struggled somewhat against worse teams and he did outstanding. Manoah was dominant coming in and struggled today.

It’s true, it would be rare. Very likely it is more tipping and or Manoah had no movement on his fastball.

But pitching coaches still give signs to the catcher on pitches from the dugout. Possible to get a sign stolen there from the first or third base coach.
