Totally. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I think it was a mistake giving him game one. Too much hype surrounding the game and it would have been better for the team to have somebody more seasoned take the mound.

I was thinking the same thing. The moment was too big for him but can you imagine the backlash the Jays would have gotten if someone else started and they had allowed the three runs in the first inning, especially after the September Manoah had. This is going to be a learning experience for Manoah and he’ll be better for it, if not this playoff then next year.
