Those 2HBPs and the Raleigh home run are the difference of the game. Baseball is a game of inches and a flashy team like the Jays could get hurt in this situation

Obviously not the playoff debut Manoah (or us) wanted but they all gotta start and learn somewhere.

If he pitches a second game this postseason I expect him to be better

Reds probably wanted Moreno if the Jays were going to get him. Don't know if he is that good, even given what he's doing tonight.
Reality is you need to pay up to get great players. Jays didn't want too and it looks like a bad call. Still early though

Totally. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I think it was a mistake giving him game one. Too much hype surrounding the game and it would have been better for the team to have somebody more seasoned take the mound.

True, but at the same time guys like Manoah are made for moments like this.

He was the guy who got you here, he's the guy who leads you in.

Also starting him in a potential elimination game 2 doesn't do him any favors either so I'm not sure the Jays had a good option either way.

But he wasn't that great, he was basically another Berrios.
Berrios was a good #2 before this season. If they we were okay paying for Berrios, they should have been okay paying for Castillo. Whatever it's done. They made their decision but will they change their TD approach if it's a short playoffs is the question.

Definitely. Like I said, hindsight is always 20/20. Could have easily gone the other way. But it was that first inning of nerves and emotion from a young pitcher with no experience in this setting that cost the game.
