Dach's stats look an awful lot like Kotkaniemi....just saying.
He was playing #1 center in Chicago. In Montreal he'll play behind Suzuki and Dvorak. He'll get better match-ups, and hopefully grow into his game.

Gotta unload Russians. Habs have 2 that will be taking up cap room if they end up as fooder in the Russian army.Top 4 d-man for a 9-17-26 big guy.
Can’t say ‘it’s a disaster!’ But ffs ut gas the potential to be.
He doesn't make up Dach has been absolutely awful for 3 years in Chicago. The Dach trade makes up for the Slaf pick. I’ll admit I haven’t watched him much as a pro, but if he was in this draft he goes ahead of Cooley and Gauthier for sure.
Well the 1OA pick makes more sense now. If Dach can stay healthy, he can be better than anyone they could've picked in 13th spot. Big "if" though....Going to miss Romanov's big hits, but he wasn't a must keep tbh. This Dach addition really pits the Slaf pick into perspective.
A nightmare is not being picked 4 or 5 in the NHL draft? You get picked 6th, It is a ticket of riches. Jesus. There are real people out there with nightmares. Shane Wright is not one of them.Gotta feel for the kid (Wright). Thought it was the biggest night of his life. It's turning into a nightmare for him.
Why not wait to see whos available at 13 before trading for Dach
And Chicago traded him away ahead of a rebuild for pennies on the dollar......The Dach trade makes up for the Slaf pick. I’ll admit I haven’t watched him much as a pro, but if he was in this draft he goes ahead of Cooley and Gauthier for sure.
They for the most part have a strong idea who all the teams are picking. It's how Bobby Mc sat at his cottage last year and tweeted the entire top 20 from his cottage before the picks. Plus I'm sure other teams were interested in Dach. He's only 21 years old.Why not wait to see whos available at 13 before trading for Dach
Yup...A 6 spot difference seems pretty small compared to the difference between Debrincat and Dach
At least this management group has picked a direction and is going at it hard. If it fails spectacularly we will know it sooner than later as opposed to Bergevin's meandering "hold on to your job" approach for a decade. I'm gonna be positive over Slaf and Dach as there's plenty of potential there for something awesome, and with a management group that really wants to develop players it has a better chance than working out in years prior.
Agreed, I think people are overreacting our u23 core now includes... I kinda like what they did tbh.
My biggest gripe about taking Slaf first overall was the prospect of not getting a top 6 center in this draft. With the Dach trade, that makes the Slaf pick look a lot better to me. I loved Dach in his draft year and am still a big believer in him. If he can develop into a 2C, then our top 6 is going to be fire.
As for Romanov... meh. Everyone seemed to be a much bigger fan of his then me. He's never going to be a top pairing guy. It was clear the offensive ability just isn't there. Sucks to lose him but more excited about the idea of having Dach.
Hope our goalies have lotsa sun block for the back of their necks.what the hell is our d going to be this year? subban coming back for league min??
