Apparently he was only really for the next tournament- but I was hoping for a little Cutter now, and a little Cutter later
Makes sense there will limited crossover.

McGroarty being cut. What a shocker. I kid, I kid.

Terrified by the goaltending.

We should have 7-9 returnees in December for the 2023 tournament depending on the final 2 cuts.
Yeah, that's three back of a milk carton for me where the goaltending is concerned.

Stramel didn't look like himself at the U18s earlier this year. He'd been out most of the season with injuries and his dad passed away in 2021. Nice to seem him so close to making this team. Hopefully a good sign that he's back to what he looked like before those events.

If we flame out early, I’m coming back to these selections.

Samoskevich-Bordeleau-Coronato
Knies-Cooley-Pastujov
Berard-Stramel-Nazar
Savage-Slaggert-James
Mazur

Kleven-Faber
Behrens-Hughes
Peart-Moore
Kaiser

Mbereko
Oke
Koepple

Anything to know about Cornell recruit Remington Keopple in goal?

Took a second to remember why the name sounded familiar.

His sister is one of the better defensemen in college hockey for Princeton.

He's the oldest of the three goalies and the only '02.

Very very good career for Hill Murray in the Minnesota High School league. Was a HUGE reason they were state champions in the 19-20 season. The team in front of him in Des Moines was truly awful, so while his stats aren't good at all, I put a lot of this on the team he was on. As a person who has watched him play quite a bit since the 18-19 season, I'm not too surprised that he's making this team as he's proven he can win big games. Mbereko had a way better team in front of him IMO and was honestly a reason Lincoln didn't compete like they should have. Not very high on Mbereko, he let in a ton of ugly goals in games I watched last season.

I really wish we would have kept Casey or Chesley around to have another RS defenseman. I know we're going for older dmen, but I'd rather have one of at RD vs Hreschuk or Truscott playing on their off side.

Don't forget Hughes plays on the right side, so we realistically only have a regular shift for two other d-men on the right side. Faber is obviously a lock of the century there and Moore is a returnee, too. I imagine the coaches feel the top 3 RD spots are locked in and they like LHD more for the extra d-men spots.

Is Sean Behren’s likely to make the team?

Should be a lock. He was going to be on the original 2022 team until he was disqualified due to COVID.

Yeah Luke can play both sides (he's actually more dangerous offensively down from the right point, but also makes a lot of really high risk plays from there). In fast paced games like this tournament I'd prefer to keep the D on their strong side, but with his skating it will probably be okay.

As a Jets fan, I'm not unhappy he was cut.

This allows McGroarty to spend more offseason time working with Barb Underhill. His skating does need to improve and I'd rather he work on that than play in the world juniors.

Question :

If a player is "Committed to Dartmouth College for 2023-2024" (example : Griffin Erdman), and the NHL comes a calling, the player can walk away from the "commitment", right?

Big question mark in net still, or did camp sort that out?

Really excited for this team otherwise.
I think this might be the most unusual goaltending situation in U.S. WJC history. We *always* have a designated #1 and usually a quality backup. I'd be lying if I said I'm optimistic we can overcome this but I guess on a positive note it's a very good team otherwise.

What??

To answer the question yes but the NHL is not going to come calling for that kid right after being drafted (if drafted).

I didn't mean Griffin Erdman in particular. It's just a general question.

I wasn't sure if a player is locked in because of a scholarship.
