I could be wrong, but these would be some combinations I’d speculate.

Commesso: Probably a 2002 forward that played at the NTDP (Beniers, Berard, Smilanic, Slaggert)

Mbereko: Probably a 2003 forward that played at the NTDP (Lucius, Pastujov, Savage)

Silverstein: Probably Cooley (his current NTDP teammate)

Yesterday Mckenzie said the 2 players who tested positive and their roommates were isolated in 4 separate rooms. Implies that the 2 positives weren't roommates.

I am extremely disappointed also for the whole 2002 age group. They missed both U18 and U20 championships except very few who were there last year.

It doesn’t matter anymore, but Silverstein is back with the 18’s so quickly. That means Mbereko was the goalie that got COVID or these were false positives.

Put Bordeleau in a hazmat suit until this tournament starts. Awesome we’re continuing, hopefully Canada and the IIHF have sensible protocols this time.
Wonder how many guys are affected with NHL camps/ teams keeping them out. Perrault better get on that passport again.

Only thing I saw were the eligibility requirements would stay the same and they'd start over completely, ignoring any results from the cancelled tournament.

Almost expecting no Sanderson or Beniers for this now. Hopefully not though. Think they’d be the only two guys who could be penciled in to NHL lineups next season.

I think Sanderson would want to go after the cancelled WJC and then basically missing all of the Olympics.

Beniers should go just for the preparation, it's not like he's too good for the level.

I hope they're both at the WCs, too.

Bruckheimer is a supporter of USA hockey. Hopefully he'll have some input to Francis on Beniers playing. Cant remember what Francis has done in the past with allowing prospects to play at the WJC.

I think the timing of the tournament makes for great training/preparation, especially if guys like Beniers and Sanderson plan on turning pro.

Please tell me Canada has changed their COVID policy and the crap that went down a month and a half ago can't happen again. If no change in COVID policy, no point in having any tournament in Canada.
