It was reported that Bordeleau tested positive, so not the same circumstances.

I actually heard a Leaman interview today about this. He was complaining about this circumstance exactly. He said that Johnson got COVID four days before Bordeleau. Leaman said that he didn't understand why Bordeleau couldn't join the bubble environment two days after everyone else, and then do his bubble quarantine, being two days later than everyone else to be released. Supposedly they didn't want to allow that type of stuff. Johnson made it by two days, and Bordeleau missed by two days.

I simply don’t know enough about Moore/Faber/Morrow to make the claim with true conviction, but there’s no chance I would exchange Canada’s defense corps with that of any other country.

I know both rosters fairly well and try to be as objective as possible.

Canada definitely has the stronger overall roster, but I like the depth on USA's defense (especially in terms of their ability to defend).

Power should be the best defenseman in the tournament, but I'm not as high on Guhle as others, and after that Canada's D doesn't impress me all that much. I think leaving Clarke off the roster will hurt them in a tournament like this.

USA's defense is extremely mobile with tons of size. Our top 6 defenders are going to be an average of ~6'2.5 ~195 lbs, which is pretty huge for a U20 tournament.

Hughes, Sanderson, Moore, and Morrow will be some of the best skating defenseman in the tournament. Faber is a great skater as well, and Kleven is just a beast at 6'4 208. Faber, Sanderson, and Kleven are all rock solid defensively as well.

Yeah, that's my bad. TSN had said Johnson was out with "non-Covid illness", which doesn't look entirely accurate.

Should be a fun battle with the offensive firepower of Russia and Canada! Still hoping for a Canada-US gold medal game.

Looks like we dodged a bullet on Tynan: Tucker Tynan illegal bookmaking

I wonder if there was smoke here already and that's why USAH backed off him even in a year where our goalie depth is trash.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought it was very odd that someone like him didn't make one of the three goaltender slots.

No reason in getting riled up over it considering it's a preseason game and Leaman probably hasn't finalized anything yet, but I don't think this team has the offensive firepower to leave a guy like Pastujov out. Coronato kind of seems out of place as a skill player on a checking line.

Yes, it's early and teams sometimes like to spread out their talent in the early going and consolidate later.

I don’t know if those will even be the lines. The coaches are still experimenting.

I agree though that those lines/pairs suck. The first line and fourth pair make sense. The rest don’t.

Pastujov is an extra forward? I am reading that right

Are they really going to ride with Silverstein?

Edit: He did not start after all...
