WJC: 2022 Team USA Roster Talk

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. meh.

we do good with hard working teams that don't look sexy on paper- just work hard, rely on the top 4 defense and solid goaltending and we have a shot.

offense is going to have to come from everywhere, not many go to players here. I will be watching and cheering every game as always but definitely one of the more "humble" rosters we have sent in a while..

In Nova Scotia if you go to the movies you have to eat your popcorn outside of the theatre before walking back into the theatre. Because who needs to see the actual movie right.

What? I've been to the movies multiple times in NS and never once was I not allowed to eat popcorn in the theatre. Am I just missing a joke?

New part of the restrictions that started yesterday. Same as at a Mooseheads game they will have a designated drinking and eating area on the concourse before you are allowed back to your regular seat.

Oh - lmao, that's pretty stupid. The theatre was always socially distanced so it didn't really matter.

Any news about the leadership group? Sanderson (C), Beniers (A), Faber (A) if i have to guess.
 
Random thought I was having today, but I think the biggest key to this team having any success is Cooley.

With Bordeleau out the team badly needs a 2nd C that can drive offense and I don’t think there’s really another candidate on the team that can do it. Leaman and Co. are likely going to have to throw him into the fire and hope he’s ready.

That or we put Samoskevich/Coronato at center.

Do we know why Bordeleau isn’t able to play but Johnson is? Seems quite strange. I wouldn’t suggest that either players shouldn’t be allowed to play. I think these rules are ridiculous, but are these not the same situations with different applications?
 
Really excited to see Logan Cooley here. I think by the halfway mark of this tournament his confidence will grow more and you'll see his creativity on the rush. Wasn't able to watch as many college games in the fall but we all have seen these guys play a lot before, and was at the World Junior Summer Showcase (I know it isn't the end all be all - just a snippet). Looking forward to how this team does in a tough group, best time of the year, can't wait.

Cooley had a bit of a slow start to the year but he's really turned it on lately. Definitely could see him earn a bigger role than expected given Bordeleau's absence.

It was reported that Bordeleau tested positive, so not the same circumstances.
