According to finnish news site the whole reason Finns were arguing to get Räty was back in, was because the rules were changed for team Canada. Didnt Johnson join on like the 19th when the deadline was 15th?
No he joined the team on the 15th. He did the 48 hour quarantine with the rest of the team as per the rules everyone agreed too.

But would the same rules stay valid if Canada and let's say Bedard were in Aatu Rätys position? I´m actually not that sure.
The fact that you feel the need to comment and defend Canada could mean something... ;)
But that didn’t happen, it’s nothing but sour grapes to speculate on it. It sucks Raty couldn’t be here but to suggest it’s due to some hockey Canada conspiracy is asinine

Hirvonen didn't play in the last 10 minutes and wasn't on the ice at the end of the game, did anybody see what happened?

What a f*** Pennanen has thinking in that moment
when he decided leave Samu Salminen out of this U20 WJC team.

Salminen was Finland's best center in U18 WJC's
and he won 70% of all his faceoffs he also scored 9 points ( 7+2 ).
If head coach has any brain-cells left in his head he shouldn't leave center like Salminen
out of the team in situation when our ( Finland ) roster struggles with serious lack of playmaking
and centers no matter where player ( Salminen ) plays.

We don't have Räty and we need to live with it.

I know the first game showed some issues with missing our 1st line center but losing that would affect any team, maybe even Canada.

If/when they make the QF, we could beat a strong team and win a medal. Everything is possible.

Putting Hirvonen at center would give much better depth. Assuming Hirvonen/Järventie can play

Järventie-Hirvonen-Simontaival
Koivunen-Helenius-Lambert
Mäenpää-Määttä-Kemell
Nikupeteri/Karvinen-Päivärinta/Kapanen-Väisänen

That was months ago, unfortunately he seems to have regressed this season. I haven't been able to watch him, but his stats are worse this season than last. This is the critical time (D+1, D+2) when players should take big leaps forward.

Czechia will beat us. Their top6 looked good against Canada. Jiricek and Svozil are great and they have decent netminding. Finland could get heavily surprised.

Stubb har talat. The diplomat himself.

Let people f*cking be disappointed if they want to? That doesn't mean they won´t show good manners, sportsmanship and respect others and still support their team?
You have a history of being dramatic and trying to push forward a selfmade thought of yours, like it would be the only truth even when you yourself are speculating, just like all the others you debate against. Or am I wrong here?
I'm as disappointed as the next guy about not getting Raty in the team. I'm just saying it's going to be tiresome if it keeps coming up portrayed as some kind of shenanigans. Just really tiresome.

(BTW, what would be wrong with "selfmade thoughts"? Aren't they sort of all...)

I apologize for my bad attitude against you. To be diplomatic is actually something I consider good and respect a lot. Take it as a compliment. Good night.

Ha, you were disappointed too, I totally get that, no need to apologize. (And you weren't completely wrong either, I know I have some tendency for overdoing my comments and looking like an insufferable besserwisser here and there...)

Fortunately their game is looking pretty good regardless. Good day!

Was starting to think the same but Germany reminded us yesterday that they aren't that bad after all and Czechia ain't no powerhouse. It will be a close game against Czechia, but Finland will win.

WJC for 02 age group will be played in August. Jalonen will be coaching.

Hopefully we will see some more skill and size on the roster, mainly with Räty and Salminen.

So assuming Jalonen actually picks the best players:

Koivunen-Helenius-Lambert
Hirvonen-Räty-Kemell
Järventie-Salminen-Simontaival
Tuomaala-Määttä-Väisänen
+Mäenpää, Liukas, Jämsen

Nurmi-Niemelä
Viro-Puutio
Paaso-Rafkin
Määttä/Jurmo-Heimosalmi

Meriläinen
Blomqvist
Jatkola

Paaso might be a bit of a homer pick but he's been really impressive in Liiga so far. Mistake free two way d-man who can do bit of everything. Much rather have him over someone like Ottavainen.

PP

Koivunen-Hirvonen-Räty
Kemell-Niemelä

Lambert-Koivunen-Salminen
Simontaival-Heimosalmi

PK

Helenius-Väisänen
Räty-Hirvonen
Määttä-Salminen

Nurmi-Niemelä
Viro-Rafkin

What are the chances for younger players such as Rönni, Lassila, Nyman, Halttunen, Kiviharju?
I think there might even be a chance of one or two of them being in the team, now that Kari Jalonen is the coach. He has usually been willing to give the most talented youngsters chances in his teams. He himself was a very skillful player without much of physicality, so I could even see him giving a very skilled but physically weak player like Kiviharju a chance in his team.

now that Kari Jalonen is the coach.
Umm... Okay. Looks like somebody missed the memo. Kojo is not the coach - and won't be. He was named as Czechia's men's head coach about a month ago. Was kinda big news in fact. Our U20 is still under Pennanen.

Ok, I trusted what was written here and didn’t honestly know how long K. Jalonen’s contract will last with the Czechs. I did know that he is coaching them right now, but was assuming that it was maybe a contract for only this WHC tournament. Then if Pennanen is after all the coach, then no chance for young and very skilled guys to be in the team. The team will be safely built with a lot of grinders and roboticly obedient players.
