WJC: 2022 Team Finland roster talk

Can someone provide PP lines?

In the game vs USA

1st Niemelä-Puutio-Hirvonen-Simontaival-Mäenpää

2nd

Kemell-Heimosalmi-Koivunen-Lambert-Kapanen

I'd imagine Järventie will play on the PP instead of Kapanen and Kemell and Mäenpää might switch units.

Thanks mate :)

And he is playing for Jukurit in Liiga today, what a joke.

It sucks. I can't understand why a player can't isolate later and then join the bubble (if it even is a bubble this time around?). It was the same thing with William Eklund last year, by the 10th of December he played in the SHL again, but couldn't play in the World Juniors

No Canadian player joined late. Everyone played by the same rules. Should say no Canadian player joined after the 15th which is what matters.

But would the same rules stay valid if Canada and let's say Bedard were in Aatu Rätys position? I´m actually not that sure.
The fact that you feel the need to comment and defend Canada could mean something... ;)

Dear god I hope where aren't going to be whining about "missing" Raty for the duration of the games... He didn't make it to the team in time, bad luck, nobody cheated, end of story. Let's make do with what we've got. (And still there's going to be someone acting like Team Canada came up with the Covid protocol for the tourney.)

Stubb har talat. The diplomat himself.

Let people f*cking be disappointed if they want to? That doesn't mean they won´t show good manners, sportsmanship and respect others and still support their team?
You have a history of being dramatic and trying to push forward a selfmade thought of yours, like it would be the only truth even when you yourself are speculating, just like all the others you debate against. Or am I wrong here?

It is pretty straight forward. Anyone that wanted to play in this tournament had to be able to get into Canada and do a 48 hour isolation as of the 15th of December. It obviously sucks for Raty. It sucks for the American kid that lost out on it two years in a row. But everyone knew the rules going in and everyone is playing by the same rules.

Yeah, that´s your opinion. I get it.

No that is literally what happened. Your feelings don't trump that.

Again, that is your opinion. You believe that every country gets the same treatment. Have you followed sports these last years? Russian athletes gets the same treatment? Israeli national team in football playing in Europe? Yeah, of course politics never have anything to do with sports, never happened ;)

My feelings? Im not that concerned buddy. You are the one writing here even when you don't support the Finnish team? Why?

Should have been able to register him before the tournament because he was in initial shortlist and he could have been isolating for 48h and show up in 2nd game. Would have been a safe and responsible decision.

It's a lot easier said than done. The timeline was probably put in place in association with the Federal/Provincial government. They don't want a guy who tested positive to come into the country. The tournament doesn't want other potential cases happening due to an infected player coming over either. They always have a cut off date when it comes to finalizing rosters in this tournament. No surprise with covid it happens on a strict deadline, regardless of how shitty it is to not have one of the best players in the tournament there. It's asinine to believe HC had anything to do with this decision.

Was he positive or just exposed to someone who was sick? Cant remember.

Either way if he’s tested negative two times he should be able to cross the border

The real problem wasn't about entering Canada.

The GM of Finland said in interviews that every team was supposed to arrive in the host city by December 15 (organizer/iihf agreement). Team Canada was still in Banff on Dec 19 and arrived in Edmonton on Dec 22. This was what they were arguing, as this deadline was why Raty got dropped in the first place. I guess they were saying if they had known the Dec 15 isn't actually a strict deadline they could have named Raty to the team and then let him arrive afterwards.

Instead of being a child, maybe do some reading.

Thomas Bordeleau is a good place to start. Are the US being screwed with as well? Or is it just Finland being held to a 'different standard'.

I don't think I´m being a child. Why are you getting so mad? I have a feeling that every country doesn't get the same treatment in sports. Am I allowed to do so?
It seems like Aatu didn't have Covid and that the staff wanted him to join. It seems it was something that was very clear from the beginning.

Last but not least, this was about Räty. Have I commented anything about a decision against Bordeleau? I´m usually consistent in my way of thinking, not hypocritical. If he deserved the opportunity to play like Räty? Then I feel bad for him as well and do believe he should get the opportunity to join. The thing here is, he's American, not Canadian.
Also, I don't know the circumstances around him as I do when it comes to Räty and yeah, I do think it´s complete and utter bulls*it. Do you have a problem with that?
Just read the comment above yours please. Think about it, if there is anything unclear then just ask.

According to finnish news site the whole reason Finns were arguing to get Räty was back in, was because the rules were changed for team Canada. Didnt Johnson join on like the 19th when the deadline was 15th?
