No Clarke, Othmann, C. Savoie, M. Savoie, McClennon. That's an awful lot of talent to not even invite to camp.

I get the whole non allstar team idea , but Othmann >Tverberg, C. Savoie> Sourdif, M.Savoie > Roy, Clarke >Seeley

I hope Joshua Roy makes it to the final cut. Pretty impressive for this 5th round pick in 2021 to make it to the camp, while 1st round picks Bolduc, L'heureux and Clarke stay at home.

They really seem to be emphasizing the "not an all star team" point in their answers. That's fine as long as the team wins. They left a lot of talent off though. I'm also surprised about how many QMJHL forwards there are.

Greig-Finley-Sourdif
Bourque, Evangelista
I think each of those top-3 lines could matchup with the top lines of any other country. The 4th line is pure forechecking/size. Bourque and Evangelista provide extra skill that could slot in for any injury, to add scoring, or if they wanted to sit Bedard they could play one of the older 2. If Bourque isn't healthy, or they wanted another left handed shot instead of 2 right handed extras, you could swap in Dean.
Guhle-Cormier
Power-O'Rourke
Lamobs-Thompson
Iorio
Almost all the D invited were LHD, so I put Thompson in without a doubt, just because I've seen him more than Iorio. I've seen O'Rourke play his off side a few times and never looks out of place, and Guhle is a good two-way guy to pair with Cormier's offense.

Winnipeg Ice will completely destroy the WHL with other teams depleted of their best players and them keeping McClennon, Savoie and Geekie
Literally all of these guys would have been on my team. Insanity.
Othmann and Savoie are objectively FAR superior to Cuylle, Dean, Desnoyers, Dufour, Finley, Roy, and Sourdif at the LEAST.
Clarke is objectively FAR superior to the majority of the defensemen invited.
This is f***ing stupid even if we win gold.

Definitely seems like there is a risk of that this year. It should still be a good team but I don't like the way they are looking at this. I also wish that Button actually knew what best on best actually meant in hockey terms.
I had to laugh that they refused to answer when the media member asked why M. Savoie was cut. I understand that they don't want to get specific about one player but it was still funny.

I don't know, I'd like to see what Clarke, Othmann, and the Savoies could do at the camp and in exhibition games. I'll add that I am pleasantly surprised to see Dufour invited.

Completely agree. I get that sometimes certain players are put in better situations than others (which contributes to better stats) and when they get to camp they look overwhelmed relative to their peers and get cut, but to not even bring them to camp is pure lunacy. I'm so tired of this HC philosophy of thinking they're the smartest in the room instead of just taking the best hockey players.
