It’s one thing to cut him after camp, but it’s another to not even bother inviting him. That just seems like a flat out irresponsible decision.

I wouldn't be afraid to take a young team especially if were taking about top end talents here. Fantilli has been by far the best player in USHL and it's not even close and considering his skill, size and skating I think he will be 100% fine as a dy-1. I took Bedard still because I believe the skill is still of the charts and I believe if he had a couple of better linemates and played on a better team his points would be much better. He still leads the WHL in shots and was a top three forward at the u18's for Canada looking just as good as Wright and McTavish especially offensively.

I like Clarke and think he should have been invited to camp at the very least, but I'm also fine with him not being on the team. I do think he is a bit overrated and I don't love his knocked knee skating and overall I think he is a bit slow, I thought Zellweger looked much better at the u18's but this is still a shock. Hell I thought I was one of the few people who were low on him, but I still put on my team.
Ya Perreault should be a top 6 forward for this team, but knowing HC they won't take him due to politics.
That is if he wants to play for HC after get snubbed from the u18's and not getting invited to the summer camp.
Not picking Brandt may not directly lead to losing for TC, but playing 6 LHD and not having a RHD on the roster might, though.
Ya we'll see how that works out. Zellweger plays on the right side so he should be fine.

Another LONGshot may be William Villeneuve. However it would make little sense if they didn’t invite Clarke but did Villeneuve.
Ty Nelson is another right shot but probably will be written off due to his age.
Wild fans are finding it odd that Hunt would be a lock over O'Rourke and Lambos, who are both considered to be better prospects. ROR looked good in the AHL last year...certainly better than Hunt, though they were playing under different sets of circumstances. I have heard that ROR is having a very good year, as is Lambos.
Maybe it's that Hunt is considered to be better at playing the offside?
Canada is loaded, as per usual. Some very good players will be left off the team.

This Wild fan doesn’t think ROR is near the current player nor prospect that Hunt is. I didn’t think ROR would be a legitimate option for Team Canada.
A decision to leave Lambos off wouldn’t be unprecedented especially given he currently has a knock and has missed some time. But he should certainly be an option ahead of ROR as well.

In the case the NHL cancels the Olympics team Canada will send the same WJC team that they were planning to anyway.
Ummm... assuming he has actually healed up, this would be the IDEAL way to work Byfield back into action.

There were a couple of guys that were surprising on that lock/front runner line up from Bob but I dont think any are egregiously bad. I think its pretty bad that Clarke is playing as well as he is and how well hes played for Canada in the past and you dont even invite him? It makes me wonder if he did something bad behind the scenes or something, hard to explain that one.
I think the D has potential to be really good. Play Power with someone like Zellwegger, they move the puck well, put up points and can handle big minutes. Then you throw out a physical shutdown pair of Guhle and Sebrango who are both tough and in the type of shape to play 30 hard mins a game if they have to. Bottom pair will have a PP specialist on it (Cormier?) and someone steady like Hunt I think. Cossa in net and the back end is really solid.
Upfront theres more talent missing than usual for Canada but guys like Perfetti, MacTavish, Guenther and Wright are guys who can bring it offensively and go toe to toe with any other country.
