We have more than enough centers who will probably just move to wing for the tournament. The way Savoie is playing he would be a lock on any other country, and should play for Canada. Guenther, Savoie(s), Bourgault, Bedard, Wright, Stankoven, Stillman, Wiesblatt, etc. are all RW options depending on who's available to play center.

I know that centres will move over to the wing as always, but I'm not that impressed with the RW options. Centre is of course stronger and the LW options also look better. If the team ran with Guenther, Bourgault, Stankoven, and Stillman as the RWs that wouldn't be bad or anything, but it seems like Savoie should be right in that mix.

Due to recent injuries, the team red and white will look something like this. I will see how accurate my list is by Dec 2-3.

Perfetti(19) Johnson(19) Evangelista(19)
C. Savoie(19) Bourque(19) Bourgault(19)
Greig(19) Lapiere(19)Foudy(19)
Cuylle(19) Robertson(18)

Power(19) Cormier(19)
O’Rourke(19) Thompson(19)
Sebrango(19) Hunt (19)

Team Red - player name (age):

Neighbours(19) Wright(17) Guenther(18)
Othmann(18) M. Savoie(17) McClennor(19)
Bedard(16) McTavish(18) Stankoven(18)

Zellweger (18) Ceulemans(18)
Zloty(19)

Some people mentioned that age doesn't matter, so I purposely built this Team white with all 19 years old and Team red with 18 years old and underagers. Let's say that they play 2-3 red and white exhibition games. Please try your best comment constructively to which team will likely to win the mini-tournament:

Team White- player name (age):

Perfetti(19) Johnson(19) Foerster(19)
C. Savoie(19) Bourque(19) Bourgault(19)
Greig(19) Lapiere(19) Evangelista(19)
Foudy(19)

Power(19) Cormier(19)
O’Rourke(19) Thompson(19)
Sebrango(19) Hunt (19)

Team Red - player name (age):

Neighbours(19) Wright(17) Guenther(18)
Othmann(18) M. Savoie(17) McClennor(19)

Notable not inevitable to camp due injury and NHL commitments- Wisdom, Byfield, Sillinger, Jarvis, Drysdale.

Fan disappointment that Perrault is opting to not play for Canada when he is on the top 10 AHL scorers. I am very disappointed with how HE handled the situation. HC needs to be a better salesman. They took Sanderson, so HC should be able to lure Perrault, but they failed.
This AHL season is tougher to play than last year's season due to the removal of the NHL taxi squad, and he managed to be on the top 10 scorers, WOW!

I said this before and I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that they are only inviting 30 players to the camp. I will take a guess if the number is 30:

I still am concerned about puck moving on the defense Overall though I think this team is the best on paper along with Russia.
Very curious to see if the Savoie brothers make it too the camp.

If you’re taking players based on their actual play this season, Savoie shouldn’t be cut unless he has a terrible camp. He’s outplaying almost everyone that will get a camp invite.

Disagree re: puck moving defenders

Power may be 6’6” but he can move the puck with the best of them.
You also have Zellweger, Thompson, Clarke and Cormier who are very good in their own right.

For anyone hoping for Byfield being available for the WJC, this quote is from the latest 32 thoughts:

“Think Team Canada was hopeful Quinton Byfield’s rehab schedule might allow him to be available for the World Juniors, but the timing doesn’t look great. Still a ways away”

We probably have the best group of puck movers in the tournament between Power, Clarke, Lambos, Cormier, Zellweger, O'Rourke, etc. And some of those guys may not even make it.

Xavier B is only mentioned partially. I'm an Oil fan and he seems to be doing really well. Outsider, lock, no chance?

Seems like he should get a camp invitation. It helps that he can comfortably go to the wing and he's having a good year so far. Probably hurts him that he doesn't have a ton of Hockey Canada experience. I'd take him as things stand right now, and I didn't care for his game in the Quebec league prior to this year.

If the Byfield rehab/conditioning timing thing doesn't work out for us, and Forester is also on the IR for the tourny,,,,then this is what comes next...Wright is beginning to be a bit of a concern and may have to be dropped to a 13th. forward role. or off the team all together. I mean, Hockey Canada has dropped 17 year old projected 10A players before...it's going to be an interesting few weeks....

Put me on the growing list of people not even remotely concerned about our group of puck moving dmen. It looks to me like we have an embarrassment of riches in that department, to be honest.

Well I guess I'm wrong about the defensemen. I guess I'm just too focused on comparing them to Byram and Drysdale last year.
