I don't think that Bourgault is a lock for the team, but I've watched a few Shawinigan games this year and he is looking good. I didn't like his game that much in years past but all that matters is what he is doing this year.
He has always been the best player on his team, always liked him better than Bourque even in his draft year...

Bourgault is dominating the Q. Looks like he took a huge leap from last year. Him and Savoie looking more and more like surefire forwards to be on this team. Good for Oilers fans.

So how many of these guys get sent down/loaned?

Jamie Drysdale
Mason McTavish
Hendrix Lapierre
Cole Sillinger
Seth Jarvis
Quinten Byfield
Jake Neighbours
Cole Perfetti

Perfetti is currently in the AHL, so good chance he gets loaned (obviously barring injuries and a call-up). I know Byfield is injured but I doubt him or Drysdale get loaned.

Curious to see what happens with the rest.

Can't say I've paid too much attention to many of these players, but I'd say in typical fashion we might have a realistic shot at 2-3 of them where the team doesn't rule them out for the tournament until the last minute, but we end up only getting one of them (if that). I think what happened to Dach last year is going to be on the minds of many GM's. Drysdale has played 10 games now and he's playing 21 minutes a night so the chances at getting him are probably pretty slim.

Kinda surprised we haven't gotten a schedule yet. Last year I believe the schedule was released around October 19-20th, and considering there was only one venue for last year, you'd think this year there would be less potential conflicts to sort out.

Out of that group I think Drysdale for sure won't get loaned. Byfield will depend on when and how he returns from injury. The others will depend on how they play moving forward, but I'd expect most of them to get loaned. None are really in big roles on their clubs, and could use the tournament to get some playing time.

Drysdale is a definite no-go.

The other players have a realistic shot at being sent to Team Canada.

Mavrik Bourque is out for two months. Looks like he's out of the running.

Yes I agree where is the schedule. This is starting to bother me,

NHL Drysdale, Byfield, Jarvis, Sillinger

Perfetti Lapierre Johnston
Guenther Wright Neighbors
Bourgault McTavish Forester
Foudy Greig Wiesblatt
Bedard

Power Clarke
Guhle Benning
O Rourke Sebrango
Ceulemans

Cossa
Garand
Probably overly optimistic about the NHLers. Benning is a probably a little out there but I feel like we need another puck mover. With his slow start I'd be surprised if Bedard makes the team but I figured I might as well as throw him in there.

I don't think the Jackets care about the 10 game mark with Sillinger, but I can see them sending him down at some point, particularly because they'd want him to play on Team Canada at the WJC. He's had some games where he looks like a top six center, and other games where he doesn't. Only 2 points but he consistently generates good chances.

Out of that group I think Drysdale for sure won't get loaned. Byfield will depend on when and how he returns from injury. I don't know if you call it a "big role" but Sillinger is one of the top 2 or 3 centers on the Jackets right now.

That explanation did not help. :)

Do you expect MORE than 3 in the NHL or less?
I'm not expecting to get more than one or two players from the NHL on the WJC team which is why I said it was optimistic of me to put 3 on the WJC roster. But one can hope.

My Team with me guessing who will be available:
Byfield - won't be available
Drysdale - won't be available
Wisdom - won't be available (injury)
Bourque - won't be available (injury)
Sillnger - Will be available

Johnson Wright Bourgault
Neighbours McTavish Foerster

Extras: L'Heureux, Evangelista, Cormier, O'rouke

My Team with no NHL, AHL Players and no Bourque or Wisdom (Injured):

Johnson M.Savoie Bourgault
L'Heureux Wright Evangelista
C.Savoie Pinelli Bedard
Greig Stankoven Guenther

Power Thompson
Lambos Zellweger
Lambos Nelson

Cossa
Brochu
Garand

Extras: Kidney, Mcelnnon, Cormier, O'rourke

Conclusions:
1. I can't get behind Clarke's skating and believe he isn't the strongest defensive players so I left him off all three possible teams. But I do want to watch him more before making a final conclusion.
2. I have seen Nelson play a bit this year and I'm a big fan of his game. Might be a hot take to have him on all the possible teams, but I believe he is in the same tier as Drysdale and Drysdale was quite good in his draft year during the WJ's.
3. Also I like both Wright and M.Savoie, but I have M.Savoie ranked higher in the lineup because I like him a little bit more than Wright. Again not a popular opinion, but I have Savoie ranked first overall in this year's draft and Wright ranked second.

Why don’t you think Perfetti will play centre?

I guess he could tbh. I just view him more as a winger for some reason.
Hasn't he generally played wing in international tourneys? Canada has that first-world problem of having too many centers and has to throw them to wing. The Olympic roster is always like 8 centers and 4 wingers in the forward group.

Ya I believe he has.

Both Sillinger and Jarvis scored today so we'll see if they stick past 10 games.

Sillinger has already been informed that he'll stick with his NHL team. With the role he's playing and the TOI he's getting, probably moving him to the list of players who won't be available when camp opens in a month.

Jarvis is still looking possible.

Interesting about Sillinger. I'm curious about NHL additions as I'm guessing that with the covid situation players need to be released earlier than usual again.

It's a stupid developmental model to keep an 18 year old 2nd. tier draft pick on a NHL roster. but oh well, NHL GMs are a rather slow bunch. Hopefully it all works out for the player and in 3 years we don't get a rash of "insert name was rushed to the NHL too soon" threads.
