If he's not even the backup, Cossa must have banged someone's wife or something. It was a bad game, but not "You're dead to me" bad.

Not even a bad game, a bad half game where he went in cold and had like 8 3 shots the first ten minutes lol. But maybe he hasnt looked as good in practice or something. I like the idea of Cossa standing on his head in a medal round more than Brochu but maybe they just want safe and steady, dont lose the game type play. That goal Cossa let in could be the difference in a medal game.

Missed every game so far, anyone have an analysis on Greig’s tournament so far?

Hes been solid in his role. He had a pretty big hit last night and his line has been really solid on the cycle and down low. I dont think hes a guy you would watch the games and really notice if you didnt intentionally look for him or anything though

I am not sure why they are splitting up Perfetti and Bedard. In a short tournament the goal should be to quickly find chemistry between players. Breaking up a duo that has it seems counterintuitive to what you should be trying to accomplish.

Coach Cameron is going to Cameron all day and all night 24/7/365.

Hopefully the kids can tune out his unnecessary nonsense enough and find it within themselves to play well enough to come away with the Ws.

"So, why start Brochu on Tuesday?
"We're going to use our depth," the coach explained. "He's a real good goaltender. Puts the work in every day. He's a real good teammate."
Cossa, who allowed three goals on 11 shots in his 30 minute exhibition outing last Thursday, appears to now be No. 3 on the depth chart."

Pleasantly surprised to see Cameron holding Sourdif accountable for his stupid hit towards the end of last nights game.

Don’t like Bedard getting demoted to the 4th line, when he played well (I thought) with Perfetti. Hopefully he’s able to add an offensive dimension to that line. I think Cuylle in particular has looked out of his depth at this level of competition so far. Also odd to see Stankoven draw into the lineup and immediately get into the top 6
Apparently not about accountability. It’s because they assume he’s going to be suspended…

Very interested in seeing how Stankoven looks on that line. Also hoping that Bourgault can return later.

I’ve generally always liked Stankoven’s game, he’s a smaller guy but he can really zip the puck and has some dynamic offensive skills.

Sucks Bourgault went down, I thought he looked quite good with Desnoyers and Cuylle in the bottom 6 as the guy driving the play on that line when he was separated from Wright. That line was generating some chemistry and controlling the play in the offensive zone when they were together. Gave us a strong balance of skill top to bottom through the line up. While he didn’t get an assist that play when he drove to the net and a chaotic failed rebound clear directly led to a goal for us.

On the topic of Wright, he needs to show up and do something today. Quickly becoming our whipping boy and frankly he hasn’t earned a top 6 role based on merit and play.

I think he's going to be great. He's got a fantastic motor, I think he's going to be a nice compliment to that line.

People seem quicker than usual to jump all over coaching decisions this year. I do think that Wright needs to prove that he deserves a top spot but other than McTavish's line being the top line I don't know what else should be set in stone. Probably that whatever line Perfetti is on is the second line. This game against Austria should be an optimal time to try different things.

TSN headline today " hopefully I can step up my game" Will Wright find more offense on the wing?

I like Stankoven coming in on that line.

I might be in the minority by saying I think it’s a mistake to not give Cossa a shot at the net. Yea, he wasn’t great against Russia and should have had a few of those shots, but he also came in cold midway through a game. 6’7 goalies that are agile and can control the crease like he can are a rarity, we should be using this to our advantage not letting him rot in the press box.

Maybe he gets the start next game, Cameron wants to "use our depth" after all.

We're playing arguably the worst team on paper in the tournament today, so they may as well use Brochu and see what he is. I don't think this is the game where it really mattered who was going to start.

The game on Friday will be the important one. By then we will have played 3 games (theoretically giving each goalie the opportunity to start) and will be playing our final round robin game against the best opponent in our pool. Whoever earns that start (and assuming they don't crap the bed against the Finns) should be the starter for the playoff rounds.

There isn't a whole lot to take from a game like that against Austria. You could say that the Canadian defencemen need to be reined in a bit on their pinches because they get caught too often. You also have to like Bedard's confidence out there though. I also like how coolly Perfetti is playing, very smart and under control all the time.
