The best member of the mount U16 team last year was the recruiter. The kids that got drafted were good before they went their. This years crop is just average level players from the names I’ve heard mentioned.
Yes, this year Mount does not have BIG names recruited so far.

I wasn’t talking about the mount team. I was talking about cam taylor, like I said. He’s played with my own and his stats say a lot. I know they played against different teams this season. I do know from him playing against the bantam aaa teams that he scored at least 8 goals against the same teams we played all year. The rest I don’t know as far as points. That’s all I was saying

I wasn’t trying to cause issues either when I said about Cam Taylor and Brady Croft. All I was trying to say was that Brady and Cam played very well together throughout the year and lead the U15 Saints from Christmas on. They are both two very exciting players to watch. Wish they could of travelled. Brady is a great two way Player where Cam is a fast offensive D-man. From what I am hearing They are both returning to play U18 with the Saints. I am not saying they are gonna go first round but I do see both these players getting attention if they play the way they did coming out of last season. I know a lot of people don’t know who Croft is because he is from Nova Scotia. But I watched him play spring league with the U15 boys and he was leading the spring league before he had to return home due to covid restrictions. If he would of stayed he would of also turned heads. In the Mount showcase a few weeks ago I heard he had 4 points in three games. Which is more then some of the other names had. Trust me, I am not trying to pump anyone tires but you said no big names at the Mount this year. There may not be BIG names but I do believe there will be some head turners through the year if I am right

I am not against Cam Taylor. Only heard his name when he went to Mount last year. Two years ago, ACC U14 PEI team did not have him. I guess most names in the roster listed here before, but not him.
Average 9-15 players from islands get drafted every year, Cam Taylor is not on that list.

I think if Mount gets Connor Arsenault , William Shields, that will be similar as last year. All BIG NAMES, otherwise, they may not get too much attention this year.

Well like I have said. Acc changes and cam should have been on that u14, everyone knows politics happen, HPP was last night and the game was close with 4-3 being the score, all the big names scoring and cam taylor having a goal and an assist to lead his team who lost. You better start adding him to your list. Waugh was only only D to score and he was on other team

So you clearly haven’t seen him play. It’s quite obvious with your remark of u14, al of what his stats say and again last night at HPP shows it

Game 1…4-3….winning team…Nicholson, power, Griffen and Waugh……losing team was Dickson, Taylor and sharkey. Game 2 was 6-4….Dickson, sharkey, Taylor, Hughes and Arsenault or Fitzpatrick and Macpherson empty netter….losing team, Nicholson, Griffen, Hudson and tip from point and not sure who scored it

We clearly have a couple of mothers/fathers pumping their kids here again. To be watching these kids as much you do or to have as much stat info of these kids as you do, it's pretty clear. Nobody pumps their kids teammates this much, and if somehow that is the case it's just weird, please let it go lol.

In the end I would bet if these two kids or their friends read this forum they would be humiliated by the constant pushing. If they have developed as much as you fellas say then there is no need to promote so badly here, Hockey PEI will take notice.

I mention a kid who u do know him well and his family from playing with them, I mentioned his name and then simply defended with stats that are open to everyone, I did not bash any kids and do believe in what I have said. When someone said something without seeing a kid play or have seen them in 2 years and stats to show and had good showing this weekend. Of course I’m gonna come to his defence when I do know the kid cause I said I have an 06 too. I apologize if that’s how u saw it

I forgot to say I do follow all the 06 kids on Pei, that’s what a lot of us do, it’s from knowing them from playing on teams and against each other and would bring up any others I thought should be talked about for the most part. That’s all

ok ok it’s making since now.. you too know each other, sounds like prospectsfinest is trying to get you too stop talking about this kid that I believe is really good as well, because it must be taking attention off of his own. I guess he can’t pump his sons tires when you are pumping this kids tires
At the same time.
You shouldn’t have too defend or apologize for what you believe, if these kids improved, like I believe they have the right people will find them. End of story

Sigh

I don’t know anyone here. I’m from Nova Scotia and my kids are adults. I have been involved in hockey outside of parenting for a while. The two responses are exactly who I was talking about. Taylor and Croft good luck to ya’s but I think I’ll be skipping your foolishness from here out. Thanks guys

I honestly don’t know anyone on here either, I like the way those kids play. Whatever happens happens. I have no kids in hockey I just enjoy following it. I find it amazing how kids can leave home at a young age to follow their dream and passion, I like what the Mount is doing for kids since new bridge went under. while most others kids can sleep in their own beds at night these kids are playing hockey and studying daily on their own. You find it foolishness that fine, that’s your opinion. This is mine
Sorry if it’s not what you wanted to hear. Not pumping my kids tires I don’t have any and don’t know them personally sorry to disappoint

Anyways…. Did anyone else happen to take in any of the HPP in PEI or hear anything about any players. Any players looking better then expected? Any prospects have a good camp? Or how the prospects in U18 AAA camps in NS or NFLD. Haven’t heard much about NB camps.

Don't know about NB, but looking at boxscores from NS, I know Quinn Kennedy had 3 goals and an assist in one game this weekend.

I saw that Coen Miller, Cade Moser and a few others have been producing as well. That said, I have not watched the games.

I already mentioned in my post that some guys will be added as I see more of them. I never said anywhere that this list would not change, I even said that there are more maritime players that I'm keeping track of, but didn't want to list them all.

Also, this is my personal evaluation. I will change my mind, but even if some guys end up going in ranges I didn't expect at the draft, it could just be that I don't agree with where the kid ended up being drafted.

I would not care much about summer showcases to decide if a player is good or not. I've seen a player be utterly useless in some showcases and go 1st overall in the Q in a recent year. It doesn't matter at all.

Just in the 2021 draft, there were some showcases in Montreal weeks before in the draft, and one of the players that went in the first round looked like he didn't even try, and all the scouts saw it. Still went in the first round. You don't decide of a player's future as a 18 to 20 years old based on a summer tournament with no stakes when they are 15 years old, you try to project their hockey sense, their skill level, etc...

As for the Mount Academy players that's a team I have not really scouted yet, same goes for the NL guys. So of course, some players from there could be missing on my list. At the end of the day, I live in Quebec so those are the guys I see the most, but I'm pretty confident in most of the Atlantic guys I listed.

Wintersun, I’m interested to see your assessment of the U17 Mount players this later year as I have personal ties to a few of the kids but haven’t seen their names here yet. be interesting to see how the do. I have only recently signed up for this site but already enjoy your insight. Cheers.

Will definitely keep track of all available prospects for the draft. The Mount will be no exception.
