I believe both Paul and Kilfoil are headed to the US this fall to play. Both are outstanding players and great kids.

The 07 HNB team will be a strong one at the Atlantic Cup this fall.

This is my list as per august 2020 for Quebec players. Those are the player that I expected back then to be drafted in the first half of the draft, so first round to seventh rounds. Now keep in mind that a year passed by and it could be very different right now. But I still expect that the higher graded one are still on top. Can’t wait to see who moved up or down. Now this represent my opinion and my choice are clearly arguable. Also, I didn’t see much of Abitibi and Lac St-jean, so you guys might be not well represented. I know as well that the 46 invitations for the U16 team Quebec as been sent last Monday. So if anybody has info, it will be interesting to compare.

Little advice before you start reading. If you are a player or a parent and you don’t find a name that you want to be on the list. Don`t go crazy, it does not mean that you don’t belong. Does not mean that you will not get draft, this is my personal choice for the first half of the draft. Don’t hold it against me. There is still the second half, and also you can reach the first half no later then this year. The most important thing is that you keep working and earn a spot in a training camp if it is what you desire. Remember, a year passed by and I’m not promoting anybody just like we saw with some LSL guy do (and sorry, he does not make the list). This is for fun and likely to start a discussion and see how the next year will go along.
`
Garde A (no particular order)

Goalies : Gabriel Daigle, Samuel Carreira,

Defenses : Adam Fortier-Gendron, Anthony Paré, Brady Austin

Forwards : Elliott L’Italien, Marek Beaudouin, Alexis Michaud, Tyron Fevry, Jeremy Leroux, Sasha Boisvert

I don’t know what is the plan for those guys, but if they are eligible for the Q, add Kevin He and Riley Patterson up there. Former LSL

What are your toughts on my list ?

I also want to throw a shutout to the girls of LSL. They are tree of them and they are really good, and possibly able to get some scholarships in the NCAA since there is not much for them over here. Also, I believe that Sienna Dalessandro have a shot at the National team spot in a couple of years from now.

After seeing all the QC guys in summer showcases, HockeyQC or pre-season, I will give you my own tiers of players going into their draft season. I will not be listing goalies outside of Gabriel D'Aigle because I haven't yet watched them carefully.

Grade A - 1st round prospects (no particular order)
G: Gabriel D'Aigle (STH)
D: Xavier Veilleux (SSF), Adam Fortier-Gendron (CEB), Guillaume Fillion (MAG)
F: Eliot Litalien (SSF), Alexis Michaud (SSF), Thomas Desruisseaux (LEV), Jeremy Leroux (Stanstead), Sacha Boisvert (Mount St-Charles), Justin Poirier (CHA)

From the maritimes: Owen Phillips, Quinn Kennedy, William Shields, Reece Peitzsche

Grade B - 2nd/3rd round prospects (no particular order)
D: Vincent Murray, Anthony Paré, Felix Plamondon
F: Bill Zonnon, Raoul Boilard, Justin Carbonneau, Maxim Masse, Samuel Leonard, Vincent Legare, Alexis Doucet, Justin Dumais, Maxime Lafond, Marek Beaudoin

From the maritimes: Ross Campbell, Gabe Smith, Connor Arsenault (these 3 could go in Grade A), Tyler Wood, Justin Smith, Dominic MacKenzie, Spencer Gill, Lincoln Waugh, Cade Moser, Kaden Smith, Evan Nicholson,

Grade C - 4th to 6th round prospects (no particular order)
D: Brady Austin, Mathias Gilbert, Tomas Lavoie, Julien Lanthier, Zachary Desjardins, Mathieu Taillefer, Gabriel L'Etoile, Edouard Vincent, Anthony Biakabutuka, Elie Dion, Christopher Beaudoin, Jeremy Prevost, Callum Coyle
F: Jacob Beaulieu, Olivier Lemieux, Antoine Fontaine, William Leonard, Marek Legault, Emerick Guevremont, Timothy Rock, Marc El-Hawat, Felix Lacerte, William Labranche, Nathan Brisson, Brett Yuzik, Maverick Brunet, Matthew Doucet

From the maritimes: Matthew Vohra, Coen Miller, Carson Griffin, Reid Calder, Callum Aucoin, Dawson Sharkey, Matthew MacLean, Jaxon Pierce, Luke Foley, Jeremie Richard, Mason Power, Ben Robertson, Ethan Dickson, and quite a few others I'm keeping an eye on as well.

I fully expect some of by Grade C prospects to grow into Grade B as I clearly don't have enough players from Quebec in that group, but I don't know yet which ones from Grade C will take the necessary steps in their games, especially the group of defensemen.

As for the players not listed, I imagine Fevry is a grade A player, and since I haven't seen Tannahill in two years, I used to have him as a B grade range. Some other players may join my list as the season goes, of course viewings have been limited in the last two years. There are other players that likely will get themselves in these ranges that I have not listed. The maritimes players will move as I have not seen them since mid-season last year for the most part.

Any eyes on NL kids?

I think you are missing some good names from the maritimes. And remember a lot of those players you mentioned still have to make Major Midget before they can even be considered. I am not going to say anyone’s name here but i was told by a very good source. That one of the A group kids that you mentioned played in a showcase not long ago on the island and didn’t impressed, looked very timid around the older players and had no drive to his game. either on the forecheck or back check.
That list is gonna change a ton between now and next June.
Two maritime kids that you never mentioned are Cam Taylor from PEI and Brady Croft from Nova Scotia. After leading the U15 Saints last season look for them to be added to this list. John Kay Martin also had a strong year with the U15 Wearwell Bombers from Nova Scotia.
I hate seeing these list posted so soon. We should be at least waiting until the teams are made before we start throwing names around !

I already mentioned in my post that some guys will be added as I see more of them. I never said anywhere that this list would not change, I even said that there are more maritime players that I'm keeping track of, but didn't want to list them all.

Also, this is my personal evaluation. I will change my mind, but even if some guys end up going in ranges I didn't expect at the draft, it could just be that I don't agree with where the kid ended up being drafted.

I would not care much about summer showcases to decide if a player is good or not. I've seen a player be utterly useless in some showcases and go 1st overall in the Q in a recent year. It doesn't matter at all.

Just in the 2021 draft, there were some showcases in Montreal weeks before in the draft, and one of the players that went in the first round looked like he didn't even try, and all the scouts saw it. Still went in the first round. You don't decide of a player's future as a 18 to 20 years old based on a summer tournament with no stakes when they are 15 years old, you try to project their hockey sense, their skill level, etc...

As for the Mount Academy players that's a team I have not really scouted yet, same goes for the NL guys. So of course, some players from there could be missing on my list. At the end of the day, I live in Quebec so those are the guys I see the most, but I'm pretty confident in most of the Atlantic guys I listed.

I agree with everything you are saying. A lot of talent out there for sure can’t wait to see everyone lists come Christmas time. I think they will change a lot by June

Your list is good. Don’t agree with some but assessments but that’s what this is all about. I’m in the maritimes I see some of your 2/3 round guys with a possibility moving into round 1 with a good season. I see some of your round 4-6 guys moving into the 2/3 rounds with a good season. You said that .. I think there’s a couple more guys could slide in and impress. Im always hesitant to roll with the 5’7” guys that could score in Bantam with 5 foot 7 parents. They usually hit puberty early and it carries them for a few seasons but once everyone starts catching up and the ice gets smaller the battles get harder and they fizzle out. I’ll always go with the bigger guys with maybe more to work on but potential through the roof. There’s a couple of those guys that are going to start turning heads once they start filling out. You have Foley listed for the maritimes and he’s an 07 I’m pretty sure.

I don’t see those Mount guys garnering a lot of attention. Good players on their teams maybe late round fliers.

I hate to disagree, but last year they drafted 12 of the 18 from one U17 team. This year there are 3 U18 level teams at the mount, and all good players. Having half all draft eligible kids. I believe there will be strong attention on all the prep schools this year heading into the draft. These players will not be fillers

Last years team had some of the top kids in the maritimes Flannigan, Pelletier, squires, burbidge, Henderson, mosey, el Tahan, McFarlane …. All played U14 snd u15 for Their province at ACC. How many of this years U16 team played anything like that?
I’m not aware of any.

They haven’t had an ACC tournament since 2 years ago. A lot of players could have grown since then.

But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see in the next 8 months….. but I’m really confident in what I’m saying.

I have to agree there has not been a ACC in two years. Too me honestly it don’t matter if a player played for his province at the U13 and U15 level, a lot of people change and grow during puberty. A lot of kids could be good and your family might not be in the political circle. A lot of things happen to young kids growing up in the minor hockey system. Parents could split and they feel sorry for the kid so bang let’s have him play for a provincial team, happens every year. Maybe not that scenario, but something. A lot of people get defensive when it comes to prep schools cause they think they are pulling kids away from their home club teams. These players aren’t getting pulled anywhere, they see a chance to play high competitive hockey without the bullshit and great coaching and they choose to go.
I am a big supporter of what the Mount is doing. I really wish we could of seen these teams travel last season. The U17 impressed me and the U15 blew my mind honestly to be that young and move away from their parents to fulfil their dream is a huge under statement to a persons character.
The Mount might of had some of the best kids for this past draft but they didn’t get there by just showing up. The effort put forth by this coaching staff is amazing from U15 up and they have every kids goals at heart and work with each kid to get better not just the top line.
This year the U18 teams are gonna turn some heads they have a number returning U18 players plus the addition of many new players like Kane. But they also have a bunch of really good 2006 players returning from the U15 team.
I am hearing Rylan Aiken is returning in net, he is a large body, and moves quick side to side. He has a great work ethic and attitude. Brady Croft is a big power forward who plays a two way game and also don’t mind mixing it up in the corners. Cam Taylor, Aidan Diamond, Seamus MacEeachern & Anthony Molloy are all returning on the Blue line. These kids each have a different aseptic to the game and are all great skating D who will stay at home when need be, but can rush the puck as good as any of them. These U18 teams have the potential to impress this year.
So as far as a list goes maybe we need to wait and see who makes there home clubs and who is producing before we start throwing tons of names to the fire. I am not saying these guys will be there this year, but considering they already have signed, I would be surprised if that weren’t. But again it all depends how hard they work this year and commit to the process. I will be following their Development throughout the season, and see if they can find a spot in the June Draft. Best of luck

You obviously have lot invested in the Mount. I just see one person pumping the same couple of players. I was able to watch a couple of Mount games last season. There are a number of high level players all around the maritimes that are at another level. I’m not saying some of the mount guys won’t improve but the draft eligible team this year isn’t close to the one last year. I’m aware of some of the mount players as decent ok players. There’s one that keeps being brought up that I never heard of. Guys like winterson are do their homework and seem to be looking at all players objectively. At the end of the day most here are basing their opinions on who they like by their connections or just by what they’ve seen or heard. At the end of the day it will come down to performance, potential (is it on the way up or has it topped out), does the player come from a good family, does player get along with others, are they selfish, do they understand the game and many many more factors.

The mount u16 team doesn’t have any kids I’d rank as the top 20 in Atlantic Canada …. Not one kid.
Yes I agree, last years group was already proven players before they arrived, this years group from the names I've heard will have to improve greatly to be Q prospects. If all goes well and they can travel we'll see how the Mount will fair out when the do the US Tournaments
