What teams own the first & second picks these days? Draft order will be sorted after lottery and regular season
If the season ended today...the draft order would look pretty close to this for the top 10. Now picks 1-3 will change based on the lottery but CB can not fall lower then #3.

Looking at Lap2000's list (which I do like BTW) , I see the CB pick as being a key piece for a Maritimer to jump the ranks. If they get #1, D'Aigle is on the table, if he is gone, I see them taking Shields, Philips or Gill.

I can't see Victo passing on D'Aigle if they get #1 pick, BC could flip D'Aigle if the price is right. Halifax will be in the Mix to grab a Maritimer as with their top 10 pick.

1 – Cape Breton

2 – Victoriaville

3 – Baie Comeau

4 – Rouyn

5 – Chicoutimi

6 – Halifax (via Moncton)

7 – Baie Comeau (via Val d’Or)

8 – Blainville

9 – Drummondville

10 – Cape Breton (via Halifax)

If Cape Breton get the first pick, they might be interrested in trading it if a team has the eyes on D'Aigle since they already have two top 2004 goaltenders for the upcoming years.

Victoriaville and Baie Comeau also have top goalies for the next 2-3 years. D'Aigle could be a right fit in Victoriaville as a second to Darveau for a couple of years.

Many moves could be done with top 5 picks this year.

I can’t see CB - near and dear to me heart - bumping up a maritime player to #1. The upside is not there. Better to trade the pick as they can pick up whatever local they want in a lower spot. I’ve focused more outside of the Maritimes the last bit as I’ve posted about and come to the conclusion that previously I was skewing things towards the maritimes to much and this time I’m going to get it right😀. This board talks about proposed #1 draft picks who are demonstratively not even the best players in there age group on their team let alone the league they play in.

Yes, hard to say what CB will do with the pick should then get #1. D'Aigle sliding in behind one of the 04's playing 22-28 games a year could be a nice option as well.
I hear what you are saying about skewing things towards the Maritimes, but I still think we will see 1 or 2 go inside the top 10 and I do not see Wood being the first Maritimer drafted...just my opinion.

Kennedys Dad works for the Mooseheads apparently they may take him , but I am hearing rumours that they really like peitzche from the wolf pack he may jump up and go #6, unless they trade up and get him somewhere in the first. I think Chicoutimi have 3 picks in the first as of now .

CHI has 4 picks in the first. Let's hope the Moose do a better job on drafting local talent then they did last year....trading up to get Crobsy is still one that I can't get my head around.

Yeah sometimes this stuff does not make much sense ... I mean Crosby was getting drafted but he was really a 3rd/4th round guy in my opinion

I mostly follow the NS U18 league and I was very surprised the following kids were not included in the Gatorade Cup for the two Maritime Teams ...

Elliot Kavanaugh (Steele Subaru) - Rookie All Star D for the League
Clint MacLaughlin (Weeks Majors) - strong skating big powerful forward with great hands
Eli James (Weeks Majors) - He stopped 147/153 shots (4 games) for a 0.961 Save% facing 38 shots a game in their 5 game series upset including a 40 save shutout in Steele's barn in game 5 ... that's big time for a rookie goalie ... baffling he was excluded from this opportunity ... makes me wonder if these rosters were chosen before the playoffs started?

For the most part they got it right, although I haven't seen most of the prep school players outside of RNS & the Mount. Provincial breakdown is pretty consistent with other years although 12 players on the Atlantic rosters from the prep schools is pretty high. NF rarely has more than a couple and they tend to be players that leave the Island in Bantam (Ritondi a recent example).

Think Pettipas will get a look? Top defensemen and first team allstar u16AAA. No question he should have been playing U18!
Saint John took a lot of the awards I noticed, but the Basin Armada came out on top of the league against Fundy. They played a good tournament without loosing and the talent in the tournament was pretty darn good. Was a pretty competitive league from top to bottom. The bottom place team actually almost beat out Armada in the playoff prior to the tournament!! Watching about 20 mins of the deciding game online they gave them everything they could handle, which shows how close the league actually is. Every U16 team has 3 -4 and maybe more players that could play in the U18 league - but playing U16 is not a bad thing for most.

Pettipas will get a look in the draft for sure and few interviews. He'd be a top 2-3 D on most U18 teams I think.

Can we watch the Gatorade Cup/QMJHL Cup online ? The Q site opens a link to Hockeytv but there is no game planned on scheduled date.

Thought Phillips looked good , shields was ok not as explosive as usual, Kennedy was quiet although he had a goal , Peitzsche looked good strongl, fast and physical nice goal , kersey was the best dman on his team, Miller was ok as well for his size did pretty well with the contact had a couple points , the Porier kid from Quebec was the best player from any team .

Kearsey & Butler both had impressive games on the Atlantic squads. Arsenault & Phillips also looked good. I have said it before, Poirier is the real deal and best forward in the draft IMO. Furey had a rough showing, only playing a handful of games in the last two months in Halifax likely wasn't great for his confidence.

Poirier I think is clearly the top pick for skaters in this years draft and he showed that. He's a player and even draws more attention on the ice and plays through it in both ends. I saw more from Butler then I expected for sure and looking forward to seeing him in the next game. Desruisseaux and Carbaoneau look very good. I have no idea how I missed Kearsey on my list - clearly he's a 1st round player maybe a top 12.

Not as much depth on the Atlantic teams to hang with the Quebec teams but the top guys look like the top guys , Kennedy ,Peitzsche , shields , Philips , Kearsey etc…
