The Devils probably have a timeline in mind of when they need an answer. I think agents typically ask teams to put in their best offer and then the agent and player pick the winner. If JG doesn't really want to go to NJ I hope the Devils are ready to pivot.

I think that's Gaudreau's agent talking and he's hoping NJ offers more. If Gaudreau turned down 10 x 8 from CAL and signs for less with NJ the agent will get second guessed. Won't shock me if he's posturing to get a team to Planarian money. I'd move on if I'm NJ and he's saying he isn't sure. Let him use some other team to delay until PHI relents.

Talk about dragging feet. We are not only the closest thing to home, but can offer the most money. If I'm Fitz I give him a deadline & say here's the deal we'll give you what you want but you need to sign by X time or we will explore other options. Either that or work those phones & just go after Tkachuk etc. I feel like Gaudreau is playing games with us like he was with Calgary. He's either trying to abide time for the Flyers or he's penny pinching by creating a bidding war.
