Better future for sure. I think you can argue our skaters our better. Goaltending holds up I think we are better.

They are. The Islanders may be a little better this year just because of goaltending and their first pairing, but it would be crazy for someone signing a 5-7 year deal to go to that team. They have no shot at winning a cup and the entire roster is going to age out, decline and turnover during the course of that contract.

They have a much better goalie and they have some better defenseman, but they no longer have Trotz and their forwards aren’t great. I’d give them the edge but if we get Gaudreau we’re right there.

We had crazy silence from the Devils on Hamilton though. I remember Kypreos said at like 9 am last year and we heard absolutely nothing til 5pm when it was announced.

We have had reports today multiple times that we are the front runners.

I read Clowe and it just made me think of when Lou signed him to that deal….

Now you reminded me of him and I did a Wikipedia on him and man is it sad what has happened to him post NHL career. He was a ECHL coach but had to step down because of health issues probably related to his concussions.
