If there is someone they really want (ie Peterka) they could move up again

Maybe. They may also sit snug in their positions late in the 1st round with a collection of players to select rather than worrying about moving up all that much.

I'm also on record as thinking using one of the later firsts as part of roster crafting for next season is fine with me. Waiting for a couple of 20-something pick to finally make the team is a time horizon is not something they need be content with if they can turn up a player who is in prime production years and fills near-term roster holes.

Good comparison on Slafkovsky.

What’s Yurov like as a player iyo? I’ve read a bunch of profiles on him but they differ a lot, and I can’t find much to watch.

Yurov has some Hossa to his game. Good at both ends, really understated game but constantly making the right decisions. A Russian Reinhart with better wheels? Kind of like William Nylander.

Looking at this list.......the idea of taking Lamoreux and Salomonsson at the bottom of the 1st is leaving me drooling a bit. Two right-handed defense-first guys who aren't incompetent in their own zone to go with Dahlin and Power. I mean.........just thinking about this in 5 years:

Dahlin-Lamoreux
Power-Salomonsson
Samuelsson-Jokiharju

Has me salivating.

Take Geekie with our first pick?

Man that'd be an excellent draft.
I’d be thrilled with Lamoreux. Super high on him
