People assume Dubas's job is to create a winning hockey team in 1-2 years, and that's an impossible task. It's to create a winning team in 7-10 years, and most here have zero clue on how to accomplish that.

By saddling the team with like 30 mill in dead cap per year in his first month on the job on vets that suck.

Also by specifically seeking out drafted prospects who will be ready quicker than picks when trading the most valuable asset he had up his sleeve in Guentzel. Oh, he also brought back another dead cap vet in that trade because that will help in 7-10 years.

Lastly by trading out top prospect for another prospect who’s main quality that is better than the guy he moved was supposedly being pro ready immediately. Spoiler: he was not pro ready.

Kyle has no plan and is just counting on rubes buying the hype he is smart for another decade while he steals paychecks and this organization circles the toilet.
