I think part of the problem with Nemec is that we were all hoping to see a guy who could step in next year and make an impact on the ice for a fanbase that's starving for success.

Could very well be the right pick in the end but nothing to move the needle for October.

Also, Little Ball of Hate has seen better days. That can't be the same person I remember as a child.

People are selling Dach short IMO. I really like what Montreal did honestly, though losing Romanov hurts.

I get it. More annoyed with them screwing up the curve. But honestly liked Nemec after the WC and like the pick.

What I do like even more now is that the next pick can be BPA instead of hoping for a Warren or decent RD to be available.

It doesn't matter if Nemec becomes a Norris caliber D man or Debrincat decides to sign elsewhere when his contract is up? Lol. There are lots of variables and they all matter.

Find it absolutely impossible to get even remotely excited about draft picks. I basically say the same thing every year, I hope the guy that I've barely seen play turns out to be good.

I am absolutely sick of the draft being the only thing our pathetic franchise looks forward to every year though. Hopefully we don't suck again this season.

The Habs obviously won this draft with the real #1 pick. I think they picked the right player. Slafkovsky looks to be such a big talented forward and there isn't anything we could do about it.

As for our GM Fitzpatrick, I am second guessing him. I don't feel he had to pick Nemec at #2. We are too weak of a team to pass on Wright or Cooley. Why not get creative and trade down or pick up Wright and trade? Between this disappointing draft and holding onto Coach Ruff, I do not feel confident we drafted an overall 2nd pick.

Just my opinion and hope I am wrong.
