I'm having some trouble seeing it unless he's ok taking a slight homegrown discount and at short term. Siegenthaler if he puts another stellar campaign in is going to be in line for a major raise.

I wouldn't rule out the discount, but I never expect it either. The limited talk about him made it sound like he wanted to stick around, so who knows

Find it absolutely impossible to get even remotely excited about draft picks. I basically say the same thing every year, I hope the guy that I've barely seen play turns out to be good.

I am absolutely sick of the draft being the only thing our pathetic franchise looks forward to every year though. Hopefully we don't suck again this season.

I never loved Wright as a player, but I did expect him to be the pick there and I'd be okay with it.

I love the Nemec pick though. The kid is so good, I'm honestly shocked how many people are so down on him.

I mean having Hamilton/Nemec/Severson for the next 5-6 years at RD isnt exactly a problem. If Sevo took a five year deal and Nemec takes a bridge after his ELC. Sounds like a luxury to me. Fitz is trying to compete for a playoff spot right here and now so trading Severson without anyone replacing him right now seems unlikely.

Exactly. Arizona didn't want Wright, and Seattle probably wasn't willing to part with the requirements we would have (one of their 2nds) to let them grab him (if they didn't just take him because he fell -- if they had Nemec on their list, they wouldn't have traded either!). Philly wasn't trading with us.

I'm just hoping some 1st round quality talent falls to our 2nd round pick or we trade up to get someone. I was excited to have a shot at one of the RD before the lottery and thought getting the 2nd pick would land us Slaf but got the RD I would have been happy with before winning the lotto. No need to reach for a RD in the 2nd round now at least.
