more so then a 40 goal scorer not even in the prime of his career? lol unreal man absolutely unreal
You should try looking at some of the players that have been selected #2 overall in NHL history. And he most certainly is in his prime and possibly beyond it. Snipers peak in their early 20s quite often.

That's a weak package IMO and signals Hawks are going long rebuild for sure.
Yeah if they weren't getting one of the top two picks they needed to come out of the DeBrincat trade with AT LEAST a top prospect as well as a top ten pick.

Good deal for both sides.

Glad the Devils stayed out of that one though, not a fan of adding DeBrincat to this roster. Would’ve cost #2 plus a small plus most likely and that’s way too pricey for another undersized forward that will cost you 8mil + when he extends.

Lol an undersized forward. He scored 40 goals a year. That is insane talk

This really shows how bad a lot of posters here are at valuing players that are only a year or so away from UFA. Some posters here actually thought the Devils would have to add to 2OA to get DeBrincat - LOL
Maybe if Chicago had competent management that would have been the asking price...HF might actually be smarter than they are lol

The return is just #7 and #39, or is there more to it than that? Seems like a low offer if there's not another piece to it.

And now that DeBrincat is gone and Tkachuk is apparently off the table, we're likely keeping the pick, barring a trade down scenario.
Only on HFBoards Fiala and Debrincat deals are considered "cheap". I'm a bit surprised about HFBoards' reaction to this deal.

In reality, those picks are super important as they are the only way to get impact players on very low contracts. Debrincat and Fiala have like 4-5 years of their primes left and will have very high contracts for remainder of their primes.

I can get not wanting to move 2 for him, but I think claiming he might be beyond his peak is a bit much

Ive seen the charts you speak of once before but idk man, a 24yo 40g scorer is like really valuable. They dont grow on trees

I actually feel bad for DeBrincat. Rumors flying everywhere that you could be going to NJ, clearly a team on the rise.

And instead, you get traded... to f***ing Ottawa, the clownshoes stepchild franchise of eastern Canada.

The Sens did good there, DeBrincat is a fantastic player.

It’s a bold move because he has a 9m QO and they have to hammer out a pricy extension but after the rumored gross Anderson/Dvorak deal they did one that made them a whole lot better.

lol Yeah this is a world of a difference compared to that deal

What the hell, think I'll head down to Asbury for the party.

Made sure to grab this bad boy for the occasion, Allegiant Goods has some nice shirts:
