Dallas drafted Mayorov. That was my guy. Great pick. We are walk away from MHL talents again.
Dallas has upped there draft game a ton (I’m not just talked about the obvious 2017 haul, they’ve been brutality good since then).

Our Central European scouting has come up with a big C in Pytlik who it's tough to judge because of injury woes, an absolute waste of a pick with Baumgartner, and now Hauser -- also big but lacking skating.

Baumgartner might not be the fault of the scouting so much as influence from the analytics department. Analytics people called him a sleeper, but everyone I know with a scouting background wouldn't have considered him if the draft went 500 picks deep.

Nitpick on Pytlik but he was drafted out of the OHL.

kind of odd pick. i mean he is a forward.

Tbh I don't really expect anyone to be an NHL regular after the 4th round or so. But I feel like a huge power forward net front presence type of guy with good junior production, but with skating issues (usually comes with the territory when you're a big guy) is a good gamble at this point. Bigger framed guys always take a bit longer to adjust playing with grown men anyway.

Lmfaooo Chuck Fletcher forever
Thank god for the Flyers for poaching him when they fired Hextall. Which was already a bad move for them to begin with. The worst thing Hextall did was stick with Hakstol quite a bit longer than even Shero stuck with Hynes.

Because remember where Chuck Fletcher was working at the time the Flyers hired him. If he was still where he was a year later than maybe he’s tapped to become the GM year to replace Shero, on the account that he has NHL GM’ing experience and Tom Fitzgerald did not.

If we want a really high upside F -- Joel Jonsson is still right there. He's an elite passer and puck handler with elite compete and IQ. If he were 6'2 he'd be long gone, but he's 5'9 and lacks elite skating which probably explains why a guy of his high level attributes is still on the board.
