RW Petr Hauser is not a kid I wrote up. He's huge at 6'4-210 and has some puck skills, but is a below average skater and needs to work on that. I didn't write him up because I didn't watch much Czech Jr. action this year.
Thats a big BOI

Petr Hauser.

This is very important. "Pete / Peter Hauser" is 100% not an NHL caliber name. "Petr" Hauser gives it some flare that maybe gives him a shot.

I like the pick because how the name sounds when you give it a New York, Minnesota, or Canadian accent.

That’s a dude where if his skating picks up you look real good and you get a real nice third liner

And if it doesn’t he’s not in da lee. I’m fine with it, but not ecstatic.

I would have preferred Hauser in the 6th round but he’s huge and teams can be size queens so whatever.

Would prefer player with higher upside and more risk. Again this is our "favorite" euro scout I believe.
Our Central European scouting has come up with a big C in Pytlik who it's tough to judge because of injury woes, an absolute waste of a pick with Baumgartner, and now Hauser -- also big but lacking skating.

Baumgartner might not be the fault of the scouting so much as influence from the analytics department. Analytics people called him a sleeper, but everyone I know with a scouting background wouldn't have considered him if the draft went 500 picks deep.

Chico was saying that if Nemec turns out to be a #4 Dman than it's a good pick.....come on man.

Of f***ing course Carolina gets Grudinin. What an embarrassment of riches they've picked up

We cant end the draft without unnecessary left defenseman and veeeeery questionable euro guy with 0.1% to be nhl player. Edwards and Baumgartner, Vilen and Hurtig, now Orlov and Hauser.

I like Vilen and I believe Orlov has potential, but they are very unnecessary guys for us. We have to foxies0scouts in our sheep-scouting squade.

Parker Bell was a very good pick for Calgary this late. 6'4-210 and skates pretty well.

Carolina makes yet another great pick with Grudinin -- one of the best skaters in the entire draft and loaded with offensive skill. An absolute steal here.

Florida might have the steal of Round 5 with Latvian F Sandis Vilmanis -- he's fast, skilled, smart and competitive and is one of the last players remaining with top 6 NHL upside.
