I agree. Top end potential...
Cooley could be like RNH but maybe a bit better.
vs
Slaf could be the next Jagr or a bit less. Bold statement but Jagr himself has said he sees some similarities from where he was at the same age.
Slaf's combo of skating, size, and skill with that shot power should not be thrown under the rug cause he is a winger. He brings it and he has the size and body to deal with big D men in the NHL.
I don't hate Cooley but he's my 4th BPA. Passing up on Slaf could be a mistake like passing up on Tkachuk. Centers are worth more than wingers could be a trap when you are looking at Cooley vs Slaf. Or it's not a trap? Guess work but I'm taking Slaf over Cooley. Cooley could be the next Turcotte
Will be interesting to see how these statement age over time.
Does anyone have a good link to watch the U18?
Would be much appreciate![]()
Kemell has the primary assist on the 1st goal.Kemell playing with some real confidence, already scored the first goal for Finland. Secondary assist for Kiviharju too
Ah right, only saw the play now since the stream wasn't up until late 1st periodKemell has the primary assist on the 1st goal.
Jagr also had the compete level / determination to be better than the next guy. After practice he was often the one who'd be running the stairs at the arena for hours afterwardsSlaf could be the next Jagr...or..a.bit less...
Jagr... the best Europeans ever with Lidstrom...
Jagr was 10x smarter than Slaf on the ice so the bit less is out of the equation.
Jagr was even smarter on the ice than 95% of the Centers except Lemieux and Gretz and Forsberg in the nhl the 90s
Jagr is easily in the top8 player in history of hockey.
He has a case for the fifth spot after 99,66,4 and Howe.
Slaf is so talented skill wise but his IQ and vision is lacking versus Jagr
Depends how much you think his size and skating will hinder him. He's en extremely smart and skilled player. Some have him in the 3rd, I have him mid-late second. The only issue I have is that we're already a somewhat small team at forward, so how many of these types of players can you have on your team? Because of that I wouldn't pick him until our 3rd or Anaheim's 3rd, but I doubt he lasts that long.Where do you guys rank Dumais ? From all account a very smart and productive player

My favourite aspect of cooley is the compete level that goes along with his skills. He battles hard and makes things happen. Kid is definitely not a floater.Feels good to know we are very likely getting one of Wright, Cooley or Slaf.
I have feeling it’s Cooley. Seems like he’s why HuGo are wanting to add up front. Speed, skill and offensive dynamism.
I think taking decisions with our actual team size in mind would be a mistake. Hes a guy who wouldnt make it for a good 2-3 years anyway , im affraid we end up looking silly passing up on him if hes still there in mid 2nd round.Depends how much you think his size and skating will hinder him. 3-4th round for me, his size/skating scares me a lot and I'm not sure he's more then a really good AHL player.Where do you guys rank Dumais ? From all account a very smart and productive player
Caufield used to shot from much more weird angles and areas. Cant blame natural goalscorers to have a shot first mentality. Not in the slightest.
He's going to dummy this tournament. Its how his game scales to the next level when his 10x perimeter shots a game does nothing for anyone.
Yup, he’s got it all. Maybe not size, but if he was 6’3” he wouldn’t be the dynamic skater that he is. He, Suzuki and Caufield on a PP is drool worthyMy favourite aspect of cooley is the compete level that goes along with his skills. He battles hard and makes things happen. I agree with that, but it's almost natural to do so...So long story short, mid to late second.I think taking decisions with our actual team size in mind would be a mistake. The league is evolving towards these high iq smallish guys , of course you cant have too many but its never too hard to trade good players to balance out a team.
If I had to guess at the Coyotes list, I think their top four are Wright/Slafkovsky and then Jiricek/Nemec. Bill Armstrong does not have a track record of taking short players high in the draft.Feels good to know we are very likely getting one of Wright, Cooley or Slaf.
