I'm a Jiricek fan boy but this is impressive.
I get thinking Markov because he’s cerebral but Markov could pass the puck through 3 defenders for a perfect one-timer. Nemec doesn't have that level of creativity.Wow!
Ive been trying to watch as much footage of Nemec and Jiricek to try an convince myself that Jiricek is better like everyone says here. Yet, I keep preferring Nemec. Reminds me so much of Markov.
On another note, I feel like the best player from this draft will be taken somewhere after first overall
And he “couldn’t skate” for his size too. I ‘member. There is certain center who the Habs thought was to small so they draft a big RD at his place that didn't play a single game with the Habs
You draft skill at the top, skill can be moved if needed for a more rounded player. BPAI hate to devalue Cooley but that is kind of where my mind is at too. If we want a contender, we can only afford to have a few undersized/skilled ones.
Cup contenders and Final 4 year/year teams in the playoffs have the right mix of skill/size/skating/goaltending/toughness. Suzuki and Cooley as a 1/2 punch? I'm not super excited about that.
But then there is a part of me that thinks BPA and if Cooley is much better than Slaf and Jiricek, we look like fools. Drafting the right one is not easy.
What I say is stay out of trouble and draft the guy with the skill/size/skating package. KK wasn't it cause he lacked the skating. Slaf and Jiricek have all 3.
Nemec is so underrated on this board.Wow!

Pretty tough to get back into the top 10.How’re we feeling about Lekkerimaki? It wouldn’t be with our pick but if we could maneuver our way into getting him I’d be thrilled.
I don't mind saying that even if I believe Nemec is likely to be a better overall dman, I like Jiricek better. He's just more fun to watch.Wow!

Goyette at 49 wpuld be amazing!Went again for a little draft. First 100 picks. I'm liking this iteration of it.
1. Shane Wright, C
29. Kevin Korchinski, D
33. Alexander Perevalov, F
49. David Goyette, F
65. Ludvig Jansson, D
74. Jordan Dumais, F
94. Cameron Lund, F
97. Jordan Gustafson, F
The 2 first picks land a franchise center and a solid, smart defenseman. The following two picks shoot for the stars (as well as Dumais at 74). And then some solid players with some upside.
I look forward to the real thing.
I didnt find any most productive dman than him on extraliga during their draft year. It seems to be a tough league for every young player to produce, cause even guys like Meszaros and cernak didnt produce that much and those dman are pretty good nhler. Then, the fact Nemec is almost PPG is pretty interessting…Nemec is so underrated on this board.
Yeah, I mean a guy like Jagr would never drafted something ridiculous like let's say 5th overall right?Top 25 player all time with 1900 points or a bit less ? How is this guy not going 1st overall ?
I think the point is the same as with Makar. Nobody knew Jagr would become Jagr at the time of the draft. Jagr was a PPG player at the time of his draft, Slaf is very far from this.Yeah, I mean a guy like Jagr would never drafted something ridiculous like let's say 5th overall right?
The comments said towards Slaf and why not to pick him over a center or D is similar to the comments said towards B Tkachuk heading into that draft.
Jagr comparisons have been brought up outside of HF boards first. Look it up and even Jagr is talking about it.
Do we really think he will be a Jagr? Come on man. It's an upside conversation and style of game where he is big, strong, has solid edge work/skating and skill.
If your low on Slafkovsky, how about the Turcotte labeling towards Cooley? Fair is fair
Firkus scored himself a jolly good Michigan last night.
Jagr went 5th because he would only report to Pittsburgh.Yeah, I mean a guy like Jagr would never drafted something ridiculous like let's say 5th overall right?
