I love Slaf but I just know that if he doesn't work out for us we will say "what the hell were we thinking, his production was already bad and he's not working out" whereas guys like Cooley and Jiricek are a lot safer quality picks.
I don't see how Jiricek's a safer pick. He hasn't had as many viewings and his skating was questionable even before his significant knee injury.

Slaf is pushing 230 lbs and getting stronger. His Olympics tournament was unreal.

Ya you're the only one that sees his skating as questionable. Slaf was great in the olympics but that alone is not enough.

No way he's 230. He'll come in around 210 at the combine I think. Still a sturdy 17 year old, but yeah.

Any recent measurements I've seen (including Olympics) has him anywhere between 225 and 228.

EDIT: Just looked up his Olympics weight and it was 218. Maybe listings I've seen have him at 218-225. RLR has him at 223. NHL-CS has him at 218.
