I think Cooley and Slafkovsky are my targets, very intriguing players... learning towards Juraj, that size, skill, and physicality is very tempting.

Just comeback from the Voltigeurs vs Tigers game, I need to say I like what I saw from Lamoureux. His mobility was surprising and he was making good decision with the puck (even if he doesn’t necessarily transport the puck what is not a bad thing)
I would be happy to take him with our second round pick if he's available, good skater especially for a guy that big

There's always a few of the hyped prospects that disappoints in their draft year. This year it is Lambert, Miro, Yurov, and Geekie.

Chances are in 1 year the 2023 draft won't look as deep as it looks like right now.

9.9 times out of 10 I’d be with you, but for next year, I respectfully disagree. This is the best WHL group I’ve seen in ~20 years, Fantilli is clearly a monster prospect, and Michkov is right there w/ Bedard. Carlsson also looking very strong. It’s just one of those years.

Didn’t forget Dvorsky, @SOLR

Last year, I do remember how it was supposed to be a stack year this year, we will see next year how the 2023 draft will really look like

Watched him against Sherbrook, was quite brutal. Looks slow and molasse out there, needs alot of work to fill out that frame. He struggles with the "great" LHJMQ pace, a big time project.

Edit: Do you remember Patrick Traverse? Thats how he looks like.

There are problems with every prospect.
Its easier to forgive a kid who doesnt impact every shifts in top men leagues than a kid having consistency issues against junior aged players. Wright is simply not dominating like he should. Lafreniere dominated the CHL in his draft year, over 2PP, was easily the best player on his team and killed it at the WJC, led team Canada to the gold being a clutch player and a big time leader.

Wright looks like a team player and a good teammate, but doesnt lead by his on ice play, Kingston has been just as much inconsistent as its captain.

Bedard ends the season with 51 goals and 100 points (after a slow start to the season). He had 41 goals and 85 points in his last 42 games.

I would literally trade the whole team if it was possible to get better odds at getting him. Dude might be over a GOAL PER GAME next year.

Yakupov, Dylan Strome and Jonathan Drouin dominated the CHL and they all suck.

It’s not our fault if you can’t see the pro potential of Shane Wright. He clearly thinks the game better than a lot of the OHL and provides more than just offence. You want a guy that looks good? Watch Lambert. And also watch how his brain cannot keep up with the rest of the package.

But everyone understands this is your schtick to simply start arguments.

Yakupov was cheating offensively all the times the way Pavel Bure used to do, was cheating on the wrong side of the puck being caught out of position all the times. Thats why he busted, was playing on a Sarnia team without any structure.

Dylan Strome played on a stacked team with McDavid and Debrincat, also his skating has always been the issue.

Jonathan Drouin played wth MacKinnon, Ehlers, Timo Meier, another stacked team.

Lafreniere had 23 pts on the 2nd best scorer on his team, 45 on the third.

That's definitely Shane's flaw: that he defers to teammates too much when he has the tools to do it all on his own much more often.

But my hypothesis in November was that he had a difficult start due to covid/broken foot, and that we'd see a much more active and productive Shane towards the end of the season. That hypothesis has held water so far, so I'm going with it. Others may not agree.

I wouldn't mind to use a pick on one of Wright's teammates Lucas Edmonds.

He's an overager, but it's his first year in the OHL.. He's played in Sweden the last few years. This year in Kingston, he has 113 pts (34G, 79A).
He'll get an ELC even if he doesn't get picked. He'll be a UFA. I think someone grabs him though in later rounds, especially a team that doesn't have a lot of prospects on their minor league team, like Seattle, Vancouver or Pittsburgh. He can step into AHL next year.

Djurgardens got relegated to HockeyAllsvenskan. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Odelius, Ohgren, Ostlund & Lekkerimaki. I have to think they want to be in SHL next year.
