Just comeback from the Voltigeurs vs Tigers game, I need to say I like what I saw from Lamoureux. His mobility was surprising and he was making good decision with the puck (even if he doesn’t necessarily transport the puck what is not a bad thing)
No offense though. Likely another Morin

He'll get an ELC even if he doesn't get picked. He'll be a UFA. I think someone grabs him though in later rounds, especially a team that doesn't have a lot of prospects on their minor league team, like Seattle, Vancouver or Pittsburgh. He can step into AHL next year.

For sure he's getting signed. I also think Miguel Tourigny will be signed (I expect Habs to pursue him).

I wouldn't mind using a late pick on either of them. They'd both be available for pro hockey right away.

They have so many picks in the mid rounds again this year, I'd see no problem with spending one of the 4th rounder on him. Ditto for Tourigny , we could easily spend a pick to make sure we get him.

I don't think we should be spending picks on over-agers unless they think they are going to be game breakers or sure-fire NHLers who can actually provide something.

Our pool is deep with NHL players, I'd much rather spend most of our draft currency on guys who have an elite trait and needs more development in other areas. We should be swinging for a home run almost every time we come to the podium due to the depth of our system but lack of high upside players.

Djurgardens got relegated to HockeyAllsvenskan. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Odelius, Ohgren, Ostlund & Lekkerimaki. I have to think they want to be in SHL next year.

Or they could go the Elias Pettersson, first of his name, route and dominate against men in the Allsvenskan before coming over to the AHL/NHL. Or maybe the come directly to the AHL.

Like you said, will be really interesting to follow.

There's always a few of the hyped prospects that disappoints in their draft year. This year it is Lambert, Miro, Yurov, and Geekie.

Chances are in 1 year the 2023 draft won't look as deep as it looks like right now.
Basically, 2022s are better than 2021s and 2023s are better than 2022s. This draft runs deep. Next draft the top 10 is epic. Majority of players are already dominant in their respective leagues.

He needed 20 or so games to get the COVID rust off. Incredible. He basically posted McDavid D-1 (or very close) numbers despite the start.
Yeah McJesus had 28 goals 71 assists for 99 points in 57 games. He was 3rd on his team in scoring (Dane Fox had 107 points and Connor Brown 128), meanwhile Bedard has 31 more points than the 2nd best scorer on his team and scored 51 goals. Not saying he's better than McDavid (we'll see in a few years just how good he is), but I think it's safe to say that his D-1 year is AT LEAST on par with McDavid stats-wise, especially accounting the slow start.

Could be yet another infamous tanking for franchise player year next year. This year 7 teams likely won't reach 70 points. That s an all time high in spite of most of these teams not even trying to tank. Imagine if a Bedard hype builds up could be even worse next year :D

Hopefully we join the fray (and win the pick!)

Asking for a friend btw, who do we have to pay to rig the lottery next year? :naughty:

:sarcasm:

Lamoureux would be lighting a pick on fire. He will get a chance because he's a tall and might challenge Traverse for one of the worst defenseman to play in the NHL on size alone.
He should be a late pick but he will go way higher solely based on size. Which is wrong.

Why are people sleeping on Gauthier?
Honestly why is he not rated higher? I am missing something?
Rapid scouting reports reading online and the answer would be poor IQ (not a cerebral player, poor shot selection, poor offensive play without the puck), lack of consistency and he can't do pass reception.

He's a big project and everything depends on how teachable he is.

Guys let's start a fund. This is a one in a lifetime opportunity.

Putting 100$. Hopefully by this time next year we have enough to bribe them.

Canada has finally named their u18 team!

Rieger and Matthew Wood, fk yes

I'm pretty excited to see Matt Morden on this team. He's the first player from old high school to be named directly to a HC team. Some talent rolling out of there these days: Newhook, Foegele, Morgan Barron, Cam Hillis, Andonovski, Kody Clark, now Morden. Funny how much better they got once I left :laugh:

Freakin' locker room is nicer than some NHL rooms!
