He was awesome at the OHL cup but it would mean that the new management didn't do a good job if where still competing for the 1st pick in 2025

Kinda like Nemac more after watching both of their draft profile clips, Jiricek’s skating worries me a bit. Think he’d pair better with either Romanov or Ghule also

Jiricek has that swag factor though, the one that dominant #1 defenders have. Think Doughty, Pietrangelo. The attitude that “I’m just going to do it and if it doesn’t work, it’s no skin off my back.” He also wants to be a factor in every play. He wants to hit, he wants to score, he wants to break up that play. I love the assertiveness.

I like Nemec, but Jiricek brings something else. Romanov has the swag too but he’s limited in his offensive talent so more suited to play 2nd pairing. Put a “boring” RD like Barron with him and give “boring” Guhle a partner like Jiricek. Oh boy.

He’s aggressive and likes to break up plays quickly. He’s a beast in the slot since he’s big. Active stick and loves using his excellent reach. Once he has the puck he moves it quickly.

Jiricek is playing for the 1st time since WJC today at noon. Under 20, 4 nations tournament is this weekend. He's playing.

He is not eligible for u18s.

He will also be at World Championships for Czechia.

We're in the home stretch of this never ending season.

Hopefully next season we have a potential Bedard selection to keep us motivated. For this year though, my heart is really set on Wright, Slafkovsky or Cooley so I'll be somewhat disappointed if we don't get one of those 3. After that, Jiricek, Savoie, Nemec and Nazar in that order.

Agree. If Habs don't have one of Wright, Cooley or Slafkovsky. They are going to have pretty good player too with Nemec, Jiricek, Nazar or Savoie. So that's not bad at all... but yeah the top 3 will be the best scenario.

I'd be very happy with Goyette with the Calgary 1st or our 2nd. What I like is that he plays a pro style / translatable game. Good speed, quick release, above average shot, goes to the front of the net for rebound goals, and gets most of his points on high IQ plays

I don’t think he will outright bust. At the very least you have a big 2nd/3rd line winger that can chip in. He’s for sure going to be an NHL player.

My target is Luca Del Bel Belluz. He looks have very good tools.

Well I'm certainly ready to put him back ahead over Slafkovsky if he's healthy and showing no ill-effects.

Has he made the team? I thought I ready he's on a short list of identified players who could play for Czechia but final roster hasn't been determined.
