My hope is Ottawa stays away from DJ’s kid completely.

But knowing us we’re going to win the lottery and pick him.

Milan Hejduk's twins are draft eligible this year.
I hate nepotism in sport, David wouldn’t even be on the radar to he drafted if his last name was “Allen” and Marek would probably barely be drafted if at all.

Most teams are always in need of more defencemen especially RD & I'm constantly reminded on here how Ottawa needs another top 4 D especially a RD & there are two available that could play here for yrs. Jiricek is almost as big & good as Seider & Nemec might be better offensively. One of these two Rd are exactly what this team needs for their future defence.

Rutger McGroarty could be a solid pick if we end up a little higher in the rankings.

Why? His production will likely make him a late round pick. You wouldn't use a 7th round pick on him if he is available?

Ah 9th to 11th pick. Our seemingly usual spot to pick from. :(

Typical Sens late season run to ruin the tank as usual and taking us out of a quality prospect.

Ugh! Frustrating!!!
we are still 6th last

the sens won't keep this up as we face some better teams here

Next 6 games: NSH, NYR, WPG, DET, BOS, TOR. We may honestly go 0 for 6 and and get back to 4th last. Though I would be surprised if Detroit beats them, very unimpressed with how they looked against Ottawa.

I just took a stab at the mock draft myself. I didn't really go in with a strategy and just drafted players that I am either familiar with or have heard some good things about. I ended up only drafting forwards because I wasn't as familiar with the quality d men available in the 2nd half of the draft.

I don't know how to embed the image like you did so I will just write my list below.

4. Danila Yurov RW 6'1 172 lbs KHL
36. Rieger Lorenz C 6'2 185 lbs AJHL
58. Luca Del Bell Belluz C 6'1 179 lbs OHL
68. Kirill Dolzhenkov LW 6'7 234 lbs MHL
76. Matthew Ward RW 5'7 154 lbs WHL
84. Liam Arnsby C 5'10 174 lbs OHL
132. Brady Stonehouse RW 5'9 170 lbs OHL
164. Reid Schaefer LW 6'2 205 lbs WHL
196. Ryan Greene C 6'1 174 lbs USHL
201. Parker Bell LW 6'3 187 lbs WHL

Reid Schaefer is definitely a guy I think the sens will be interested in. Lot of tools there. Big, good skater, hard-nosed player. I have a hard time seeing him be available past the 3rd round though. If he's there at 164 I think that's a huge steal.

Parker Bell is also a great late round swing imo. Big kid, good skater playing on a horrible team.

You have to stop watching the standings and focus on what happens draft lottery day. Ottawa had a tough schedule for the first bit of the season, had to play through Covid before the league started shutting things down, and then of course the injuries as well. That's why they were down in the standings.

Detroit and Montreal are TERRIBLE right now. If the Sens are losing those games, it's a problem. Overall, Ottawa is a better team than Detroit but the standings show something different because Detroit started well and also converted a lot of ties into bonus points. It's very possible Detroit finishes with less points than Ottawa by season's end and that's the way it should be.

If anyone should be pissed about draft position and winning meaningless games it should be Wings fans for that good start because they need way more top talent than what they have right now.

Ottawa will likely pick in the top 10 and be in contention for the top 2 picks through the lottery. That's a positive.

Could be a solid late round pick.

Manitoba league hasn't produced an NHLer in the past 25 years, I'd stay away from there on that alone. It's an extremely weak league.

Guy leading his team went from 45 points in 58 games in the MJHL as a 17 year old, to 2 points in 16 games in the BCHL as an 18 year old, to 74 points in 52 games in the MJHL as a 19 year old. It's a very, very weak league.

Nah we never win the lottery. We should try to get the best odds itself.

Thanks, that is good to know. I had seen him ranked by CSS so I wasn't sure if that was suggesting that teams are seriously looking at him. In Canada, outside of major junior would you say that teams only look at the BCHL and AJHL?

The point production isn't there so I am not sure he gets drafted but he is one of the biggest hitters in the OHL, he is a good fighter and he seems like a pretty good athlete with speed, skating and some raw skill. He might be worth considering with a late pick.

BCHL and AJHL are the two most prominent. OJHL gets some looks when guys like McBain decide to stay home for their Junior A rather than leave for the BCHL. Last year was a bit of an exception with some teams traveling to scout the Maritime league to look at Ertel, that's a league that is usually not touched

Assuming we do our annual late season run and pick 7-10, Cutter Gauthier seems like the prototypical Sens pick.

USNDT, committed to Boston College
Big - 6'3, 189 lbs
Strong skater, big shot
Rising in rankings

"Well-rounded forward with a deadly wrist shot. Plays a strong game off the puck and should grow into a top-nine goal-scoring winger at the NHL level."

"Gauthier is a excellent skater in many areas, and his combination of power-forward size with breakaway speed makes him a bit of a unicorn among his 2022 draft-eligible peers. "

Sounds pretty good.
