You should follow what other GMs do, this isn’t a Toronto only thing. Edmonton just gave up a 2nd and 3rd to slide back to spots and unload Kassian, Ottawa was willing to give up a high pick to unload Murray, Tampa took back a 2.5m ahl player to open up 4.2 next year.I'd rather not make those mistakes to begin with. Good GMs take calculated risks, not by volume.
There's a reason he has to make so many trades; there's an inability to identify the right talent/fit.
He makes more moves than 2/3's of the GMs easily and most of them are lateral moves at best.
It’s the name of the game, neither the Ritchie or mrazek deals will set this team back in a significant way and they create flexibility going into FA
