Hey Renaud.. Is the chair in the middle and near the bottom of the picture the one you'll be sitting in and falling off of when the Habs announce Wright's name 1st overall. :sarcasm: Just curious.

Montreal may improve management, development, players and what not.....the one thing in Montreal that NEVER improved is our so-called sports medias.

No wonder they lick Bergevin's ass for 10 years, until the very end.....stupid likes stupid
Social media is dooming pretty much all media. There is no money in it so it is all paid ads or paid propaganda or really, really low quality. At least CBC/BBC is funded...

TSN/RDS/TVA have way too much time to fill with habs talk and no one insightful or interesting to fill it with. The Gazette barely tries anymore, hardly ever has a meaningful habs article.

I find it difficult to believe given our lack of RHD/PMD prospects there’s been zero comms linking Nemec and Montreal when many rankings have him listed at 2 or 3. Has to be a smokescreen to hide our interest to keep prices down to move up and nab him

People keep talking about the battle between Wright and Slaf for #1 ovr. Meanwhile my attention is focused solely on the true fight; Lavoie vs chair.

Edge of your seat kinda stuff, just don’t sit too close to the edge.

Geekie has a certain Jagr quality. He'll probably go in the range we're more likely to trade up for.

Him and Slaf would make for a terrific duo of giants for a future 2nd line.

And Geekie could become a star. Criticisms of his lack of effort reminds me of Getzlaf.

Here's our big center.
Is effort a problem, too? The scouting reports I saw said he was effective once he got where he was going but he took way too long to get there. In the NHL he'd need a taxi on the ice.

People always mention Getzlaf with Geekie because he was a big slow guy who worked out his skating, unlike pretty much every other big slow guy in junior. McCarron would have been a monster if he worked out his skating, too.

only reason to do a trade with Ottawa is to get a defender like Jiricek (if he falls to 7). Wright plus a stud D like Nemec/Jiri this year would be a HUGE win - I'd be happy to trade all the rest of our picks this year to get Wright/Nemec combo.
or maybe keep 1 second - and pick up Logan Morrison.

There will be a number of intriguing prospects available at #7 and we need help everywhere. If Nemec and Jiricek are off the board I would still be very interested in the pick.

perhaps, but anyone at #7 is 2 years away from playing.. the rebuild has to be finished in max two years and we should be ready to compete for SC by year3. IMO, the only pick of value this draft after Wright, would be Nemec or Jiri to give us the immediate playing time and learning curve. If not those guys, Id prefer to just stay with our team, baggage and all and keep offloading for current prospects like Barron etc... hopefully hit on 1 or 2 by next year (heinman, etc..) and a few of our current draft crop make the jump.. the rest can be filled through FAs next year. still need to tank in 23 - bottom 3 pick here we come!!

finally doing this right.

I honestly think HuGo are keeping their options open right till the end. If Anderson (is unfortunately) is traded to the Sens with pick 26, there's a very good chance they take slaf and then a C at 7. If that trades falls through, I think they take Wright and look to move up with 26 / 33 or / and maybe Dvorak for a winger in the top 15. i think there's lots still on the table AND the fact klingberg isn't signing opens up the petry dallas deal. does Dallas offer C Dellandrea if we eat salary and add picks? Maybe he ends up similar to Wright? lots of moving parts

Interesting. Slaf + Kasper would be an intriguing haul.
