The main reason I can't wait for the draft is because we will finally get a significant idea of what the "plan" our new management team is going to be implementing in order to improve the team and put this disastrous past year behind us....

1. How willing will they be to trade Petry, Anderson or any other player and will it be for more draft picks or existing prospects ready to contribute at Laval.
2. We'll get real insight into what specific "style of play" the team will be trying to play by the kind of players we draft. (size/speed/sense)
3. How aggressive are we going to be in trading up with our 14 picks.

players under 6 feet tall aren't the Senators and the Ducks Modus operandi.

Doubt the Senators change that for Kemell (hard to get an exact height but ranges from 5,9 - 5,11) and the Ducks with Savoie 5,9.

If neither of them draft Geekie I will eat my hat.

Good chance Ottawa would instead pick Jiricek as they need a RD partner for Chabot/Sanderson

Good mock otherwise.

I'm surprised that Cooley actually has almost double the votes of Slafkovsky at the moment. Not because I don't think he's better, but more because it seemed like Slafkovsky was gaining momentum on these boards lately....But maybe its just the Slafkovsky fans were louder.

I still have a preference for Wright, and Cooley would be second for me.

One Slafkovsky fan

Yeah Cooley could be the best of this group. Potential to be a dynamic player.
Man what a tough choice

I like it. Wright and Ostlund in round 1 would be great!!
But with the 33rd overall, I’d much rather go with Hutson over Warren if we are going defenseman. We have enough D prospects like Warren
Don't know much about Hutson so this is a serious question. Everyone is high on Hutson's skating and zone exits but they worry about him clearing the front of the net and board battles because of his size. So my question is, isn't that what we had in Mete?

Like I said, I haven't followed or watched Hutson so I'm just curious as to what else he brings with his game.

Hutson has a Makar like skill set. He's obviously not the same skater. But the elusiveness, the shot, the playmaking

Mete was a smooth skating defenseman who had puck moving ability but his offensive game didn't have much else to it.

It’s like some people kinda ignored the fact that it seems like Cooley always been in the habs conversation for the pick and got caught up in the Slafkovsky talk the medias pushed.

He always has, but the talk was really overshadowed by the Slafkovsky tidal wave since the World Championships.

What i don’t like about Cooley is that everytime i saw him, it looks like he was trying too hard to show the scouts how he could dangle and play zegras and it left me facepalming. Moving foward, i don’t see him playing like zegras in the pro. That won’t be his game. His game will speed and hard work. Don’t try to over dangle just to proove to the scouts.

I don't understand why we wouldn't go with Wright.

You either have High IQ or not as a prospect. I am terrified by low IQ players, often they have other attributes (size) but Hockey IQ should be the highest on the list of priorities.

And he's known to have one of (if not the) best shots in the draft. Give me IQ + shot combo any day as they seem to be the most difficult skills to improve upon after being drafted.
