Its not even close. However my boss does not agree and I would like to be able to retire before I take a dirt nap so I guess pretending to work is going to have to happen today until closer to draft time.Work phone calls? How can you work on a day like this? This draft is clearly more important than a career.
I want to just stay put at pick 5. Don’t even want #1.
Different odds to spice things up.
Would also allow us to bump Nico to be our 3rd line center where he belongs.I wouldn't hate if we won the lottery and took Wright. In a few years we could create matchup nightmares for other teams.
Next year we are picking 32 so we are not in the lotto . Don’t need luck . Using it now and save it up for 2035 when we miss the playoffs nextNeed the luck for next year.

7.25 for third line center sounds about right. sighWould also allow us to bump Nico to be our 3rd line center where he belongs.
Nah. If we win, I'm taking full credit for my posting of Taylor Hall.If we win it's single handedly because of you lol! You've been so involved in talking about the draft and hopping for certain guys that I'm now convinced we're getting out guy lol.
Meh . Better use of the pick. Ideal outcome is tradimg down ,still get Jiricek and get another pick where we take Miroshnichenko.I wouldn't hate if we won the lottery and took Wright. In a few years we could create matchup nightmares for other teams.

OR take Slafkovsky and Chesley . Not too shabby , I’ll take either outcome.
There's a less than 10% the Devils win the lottery. If they do, there is a pretty low chance they keep the pick. If they do, there's an even lower chance the Devils take Wright.I wouldn't hate if we won the lottery and took Wright. In a few years we could create matchup nightmares for other teams.
At #1, Devils still probably take Slafkovsky or Jiricek, in my opinion.Ideal outcome is getting #2 and drafting Slafkovsky.
If we get #1, I mean...I'm okay with Shane but...another Center? Would rather have the LW'er Slaf.

So, I'd give Shane Wright a (roughly) 0.00002% chance of coming to New Jersey.
You absolutely do not move a top 10 pick if you are a rebuilding team. You absolutely absolutely don't move a top 5 pick if you are rebuilding. You absolutely absolutely absolutely don't move a #1 overall pick if you are still rebuilding.you always hope to win the lotto this way you can choose whoever you want. absolutely would move the pick if we won it for real legit nhl talent.
I think it makes sense to see whats the best return you get if Slaf, Nemec, Jiricek are all gone and maybe do a trade conditional on those three being gone. There's a major drop off in terms of ability / team need it seems after those three. You absolutely do not move a top 10 pick if you are a rebuilding team. You absolutely absolutely don't move a top 5 pick if you are rebuilding. You absolutely absolutely absolutely don't move a #1 overall pick if you are still rebuilding.
I mean, if Colorado offers Cale Makar? Then sure. But somehow I doubt he's on the market. You certainly don't do it for Kevin Fiala or Brock Boeser or whomever.
The good luck charm Devils' HfBoards needs, but not the one we deserve
