Hampus Eriksson C/LW 6'6, 212. Undrafted, playing for Northern Michigan.Any UDFA this season that can step in the next few years like a Tanner Jeannot and Yanni Gourde types??? Same type of gritty style of forward.

Not sure how physical he plays but is said to be pretty good at winning faceoffs. I can't say I'm familiar enough with him in terms of physical play and grittiness or how his game could translate at the NHL level. Looks like if he makes it it would be in the bottom 6 in a defensive role.
Ben Meyers 5'11, 220. I see him listed as a forward. Univ. Minnesota. From what I've found on him so far, good skater with some offensive skills with a strong 2 way game. He attended the Bruins Development camp, is currently with the USA olympic team and has been Captain in Minnesota.
Marc McLaughlin 6'0, 202. Boston College Captain. He's also worn the 'C' with Cushing Academy and Cedar Rapids (USHL). Scouting report says he has a good shot, good at faceoffs and could play in different situations but does well in a defensive role. He also attended Bruins development camp so I'm not sure whether or not he signs there or if the Rangers or himself are interested.
Maxim 'Max' Andreev. C (L) 6'0, 185. Cornell. Good at faceoffs and isn't shy of physical play. It looks like he's been the top line centre, like the players mentioned I can't say what his intentions are or how he'd do in the NHL, maybe 2nd line potential down the road or bottom 6 in the right environment.
I know even less about Mitchell Mattson. C (L), 6'4, 192. Drafted by Calgary in the 5th round in 2016 and remains unsigned.
There's more out there I'm sure, some get more hype than others and some fly under the radar. PTO's and NHL/AHL/Euro UFAs are other options depending on who's out there.
What is Juraj Slafkovsky's main position? I see him listed at all the forward positions.
Man he looked good in the Olympics.
My top 10
1. Juraj Slafkovsky
2. David Jiricek
3. Shane Wright
4. Matt Savoie
5. Denton Mateychuk
6. Brad Lambert
7. Marco Kasper
8. Simon Nemec
9. Lian Bichsel
10. Isaac Howard
At our projected pick (#27) here’s some guys I’d be interested in that we may have the opportunity to select. I expect a few of these guys to be off the board by our pick but they’re all in range as of now on McKenzie’s most recent list. I also expect our pick to be a bit higher
1. Denton Mateychuk
2. Marco Kasper
3. Lian Bichsel
4. Liam Ohgren
5. Owen Beck
6. Rutger McGroarty
7. Cutter Gauthier
8. Liam Arnsby

As someone who doesn't follow drafts too closely, I thought Shane Wright was a runaway #1 pick this year? Have the other guys caught up to him, or has he taken a bit of a step back?
He's definitely not taken off offensively as was perhaps expected given his rookie year, but iirc he's also been injured. Should be the odds-on favorite to go 1OA but he's no Bedard or McDavid
If you’re the Ranger’s G.M. at the 20222 NHL draft in Montreal and Shane Wright, Matthew Savoie, Logan Cooley, Danila Yurov, Joakim Kemell, Ivan Mirochnichenko, Brad Lambert, Juraj Slafkovsky, Rutger McGroarty, Conor Geekie, Frank Nazar, Marco Kasper, Noah Ostlund, Nathan Gaucher, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Filip Mesar, Filip Bystedt, Jimmy Snuggerud, Jack Hughes are all off the board when you pick.
Pavel Mintyukov is still available. Do you draft him? Someone Else? Trade down or trade the pick for a 2023 1st and an additional draft pick?
Keep in mind your holding two, 2nd round picks this draft.
Sorry I will have to go back and edit. I purposely didn’t list LW’s and D-men that were higher rated than Minty. I see now how it didn’t represent the quandary I was going for.Jump out of my seat as Simon Nemec's somehow fallen to our pick

When you pick, Nathan Gaucher has already been selected.Nathan Gaucher is the guy I like, based on his scouting reports.

Same here. Not a fan of the BPA this draft for us. If we can’t address a need there or think it will be available later, trade down.Oh sorry. I didn't see his name there. Chris Peters has Mintyukov at 15th in his latest rankings. If we are going BPA, he'd probably be a good choice, but definitely not a need. Cutter Gauthier might be another value pick.
I really want a center, one who has some grit and defensive game, but can score enough to fit on the 2nd line. Not easy to find.
What is your thoughts on trading down or flipping the pick for a 2023 1st and an additional pick?Pick the best player, don't reach for positional need.

Rangers have no need to trade down. We already have two 2nd round picks and we are way past the stage of drafting quantity over quality. If anything, use a 2nd to trade UP.
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, if we still have 1sts and 2nds left after the trade deadline.
