The recent history of QBs getting injured every which way makes Andrew Luck's decision to retire early look smarter all the time.
Yep. He's going to live more than comfortably with all the money he's made and he'll be Healthy.

He may not have accomplished his Professional goal of winning a SB but he certainly accomplished a Life goal in becoming set-for-life financially.

Not only is this potentially season ending, but he needs to start thinking about his long term health. Brutal.
They shouldn’t have let him play again this season after the Cincy concussion. And no way should he play again now after 3 in one season.

Those types of rules need to be part of the protocals. 2 concussions in a season =‘s done for the year.

But tua may just pass through current protocols and again be sent back out there.

again he did not have a diagnosed concussion after the Bills game.

You can disagree with that all you want, but its a fact

You knock the spotters in one post and then use the fact that the spotters missed a clear concussion to justify your QB continuing to play. He's been knocked loopy 3 times this season. There is no way he should be put in position to be knocked loopy for a 4th time.

Yet I'm guessing you are hoping he is cleared to play for the playoffs.

What tests were done after that game and by whom? Without knowing that it’s hard to know what to think.
Concussion's are hard to diagnose, and every person has different symptoms. Given his quick return after having a seizure on the field, Tua is likely a guy who doesn't show many of the tell tale signs post concussion.

But they clearly missed the Buffalo concussion, and there is no way he should have returned so quickly after the Cincy game, shouldn't have played again this season.

Because the spotters were "intensified" after the Buffalo game. That is what "sparked" this change in policy. He visited the doctors every day after the Buffalo game and they ALL said he did not have any concussion symptoms. I am just telling you what happened, I am sorry that you dont like it.

and dont speak for me, you have absolutely no idea what I think. He is the franchise QB...I want the best for his longterm health both on and off the field. He wont play again this year.

How many is “ALL” and who was paying them?? I’m not doubting you but once it was reported that thr team has the final say in thr concussion protocol I became a skeptic

I'm not talking about during the game. I am talking about he went to see doctors (both team and independent) after the Bills game and they literally all cleared him.

Again, I realize that concussions are not an exact science. But if the coach and player are told "you did not have a concussion", what are they supposed to do?

That’s fair. It’s really a shame what bad luck he has had this season. He’s a very tough kid and has worked very hard to get where he is. He was in astronomy class with my middle son. Impressive he was ambitious enough to take that with the math nerds like my kid.

Its cool that they “ALL” cleared him (even though, as was discussed here in this thread, there were some on the outside saying that was a massive mistake) but as it has played out it is now obvious how wrong they ”ALL” were.

They were “ALL” wrong to allow him to play after the Cincy game as well. In my mind more wrong here then after the Buffalo game. He clearly should not gave been allowed back in so soon after having a concussion induced seizure on the field. The protocol needs to change.

where is your outrage for Kenny Pickett back playing with 2 concussions in 3 weeks? Or how about Tee Higgins earlier in the year who had 2 in a few week span?

the thing around Tua is so weird from the media and opposing fans tbh

at the end of the day, I want the guy to do whats best for himself in the long run obviously.

where is the 'outrage' about this?

When I said this above I meant it for all players not just Tua.

But Tua is a special case because he played a game on short rest after getting knocked loopy. And then had the most extreme on field concussion we have seen. And now has 3 in a season.

But yeah, in a case like Pickett, 2 concussions, I say 6 weeks on the shelf minimum.

I remember that Whitehead hit on Higgins happened during Jets v Cincy and the guy came back in like it was nothing. In reality the NFL doesn't care about these guys in the long run, they care about the optics. Tua v Cincy was an easy chance for the NFL to act like they were proactive when in reality they just did it to cover themselves from future lawsuits.

Man, I am thrilled with what the Giants accomplished this season. Remarkable coaching job. DJ was resilient as hell all year long. Playing with house money at this point.

DJ has been a top 10 QB this season, no joke. The team is playing its best ball of the season these last 3 weeks. I like their chances if they play Minny again.

Am I biased as hell? Sure. But I can usually sniff out the pretenders I cheer for. I'm staring straight at you Mets.

But I do believe these guys can actually make some noise. Legit SB contenders? No. But win a round or two and/or being a pain in the ass to whomever they play? Absolutely.

This week will be as telling of a game they've played all season because philthy should be going balls to wall to bring it home.

No matter what happens if you're a Giants fan you've gotta love the turnaround and be hopeful for the future.
