It’s a fantastic year for Western Canada. Bedard isn’t even here either.

Matthew Wood is from Alberta and playing out of the BCHL should be a high pick, he’s going the NCAA route and heading to Connecticut this year.

My takeaway from this game is Barlow is one to watch, he could easily have a couple more goals. Very impressive viewing for him, whoever nabs him at the 2023 draft will be over the moon happy.

This entire team is quite strong, there will be a lot of guys from this team who will be impact NHLers a few years from now.

Allen, Wood, Barlow, Benson, and Rehkopf are the first names that come to mind. And of course Gauthier, really finding soft areas well. None of the boys are playing poorly.

Yager is actually the guy who I would say is closest to being disappointing for me tonight, but that’s just because I know he is able to play at a level far above what he is showing right now. He’s the best prospect on this team IMO but he’s not demanding and dominating the puck as much as Allen or Benson, for example.

That sucks. They have the USA-Finland and Germany-Czechia games on TSN5 tomorrow
