There isn't a chance a Canadian crowd is cheering for the U.S in a hockey game and vice versa, especially against a heavy under dog.

You know the drill.
Not surprised in the slightest, JJ. Seen it many times.

I'll concede that remarking on the unremarkable is a bit pointless.

Once again - Germany was able to get the puck to the point on the PP but we aren’t able to do anything with it. Why the hell arent we playing Paul Mayer?

:thumbu:

How is the U.S looking in this game anyway? The score is indicative I suppose but what players are standing out?
Whitelaw, McDonough for me. You can see Musty has the skills, but timing looks a bit off, and tried to do too much himself in the 1st..

Only explanation I could come up with is, that the coach doesn't want him playing too much. He plays a lot 5-5 and on the penalty kill.

Bicker and Brandl stood out in that period for Germany. Really liking the goaltending too. Pertuch did not look good on the 4th goal, but made several really nice saves, and Döge is no slouch so far either. And Willerscheid who's not dressed today is also not a bad goalie. Would be great if we could start producing some quality goalies again.

I don't know what's going on with Fischer. Not that he has been bad, but I have seen him play so much better.
I hope he can find that extra gear again some day.
He looks slower than I remember, both in his feet and in his head.

I’m thinking Willerscheid will start in the more realistic games Germany can win - which I think is the right call. Agreed that other than that 4th goal Pertuch was playing well. Doge has been good although he hasn’t face many shots yet.

Agree with Fischer. Definitely a disappointment and it’s unfortunate. He’s playing down the lineup while this time last year he was playing top line minutes for the u17 squad.

Bicker has been far and away our best player. Reminds me a bit of Justin Schutz in that he is tenacious and has speed to burn.

In the Expedia commercial, they show a chess position that you would never arrive at in a billion years. In commercials showing chess, is it really too much to ask to create a realistic position? :ha:

It's the same when they show poker hands in commercials. The player is showing with a royal flush but the cards are in order. You don't rearrange cards when you play poker and the odds of getting the hand in order must be astronomical.

I'd settle for no Messier.
He looks good for 61.

Same thing happens in movies like James Bond. The EVIL villain gets 4 of a kind and the Hero gets a Royal Flush. Ruins it for me.
