It's too bad that Tropmann isn't playing.

Still don’t understand why he isn’t. I don’t believe there is an injury. He could help Mayer out there.

I also want to know what is going on with Vinzens. He is easily a top-6 guy amongst the forwards. Real questionable decisions being made if injury’s aren’t a thing.

No idea re. Vinzens but Tropmann had an injury and will be out for a couple more months.

Scrambling 1st period. Not surprising for USA - unlike the NTDP dominated tournaments, these guys haven't played together. Not sure about the Germans.

Positives so far for Germany:

- Really only allowed 1 goal against​

- Late penalty aside, mostly disciplined​

- Mayer and Pertuch looking good.​

- The depth is surprisingly good. I expected much less in terms of both willingness and ability to create decent/any breakouts from all but a handful of players.​

They're obviously outmatched, but so far it is not embarassing and I hope they can keep it up for the rest of the game.

There isn't a chance a Canadian crowd is cheering for the U.S in a hockey game and vice versa, especially against a heavy under dog.

I feel like the defenders were bobbling the puck at the blue line a lot on that PP - I think we should try Mayer there next PP.
