Am I missing something? I know it is early, but given everything, don't know why anyone would think Wright is in the same dimension as Cooley right now, much less ahead of him.
He’s not and he never was. Canadian media likes to prop their boys. Wright is also a bigger, natural center. Cooley was a gift to AZ. They did their homework and fell in love with the person and player.

Because 6 months ago everyone thought (myself included) he was the best player in the draft. Cooley was a surprise pick at 3 as the top C taken. He has played extremely well though since and has passed Wright simply because he looks to be a much more dynamic player

When the dust settles from this rebuild I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Cooley was the one leading this team. He has legit 1C potential.

It's nuts that just before Christmas I actually thought he needed to go back to college for one year.
Now I'd be shocked if he isn't a pro next year. Whether it's in the NHL or AHL is to be determined.

Frozen Four is April 6-8, after that, only two Coyotes games left. Side note- it will be interesting to see if is considered for the USA World Championship team in May or if they give the spot to a draft eligible like Fantilli.

Err... 2 but I stand corrected and was thinking about Smith signing last season and forgetting that last season ended later than usual. Thank you for the correction and it would only make sense if the team never makes it out of the regionals.
