Even with the lack of production, Kaspers performance is generally a net positive. When every player has a positive overall impact you win a lot more then you lose, Kasper is the type of player you win with.

This is exactly the type of player you build a Stanley winning team with. High motor, never give up type of player. The offensive abilities will come with time and experience; oh and better linemates.

Kasper is going to be a fixture for us. Plays like an absolute dog and is very sound defensively. The scoring will come, he's been consistently one of our better players which will eventually provide results. It's important to remember that the whole team is in a massive scoring slump especially on 5v5 and expecting a rookie (who isn't a generational or near generational level talent) to fix our issues is foolish.

People are forgetting about ROR, Couturier, Ericksson-Ekk. Guys that didn't start out in the NHL as major scoring threats until a few years in.

There's a long, long list of players who in their first 1-3 years, never mind the first 10 games of their rookie season, did not look like they'd become what they did. It's ridiculous that anyone would want proof.

Ya still plenty of time to develop. I was more touching on why the bar is at star player. If him and Nate turn into 50-60 point good defensive centers that's a huge drafting win but is it enough?
Do we need an offensive star or between one or both of those 2, Larkin,Raymond and Seider/Edvinsson we have our blueprint for a cup team

I'm picturing the power rangers morphing into the one big robot with 5 of these.

Kind of the same way I feel no one would prefer a top 10 pick to not develop offense but Kasper's floor is high energy 3rd line center and PK specialist, that is still a difficult part of the roster to obtain if he can hit an elite level. I also think people are being impatient, he will find his offense maybe even be a late bloomer.

Yeah I'm starting to agree with this. The top 4 or so forwards are producing but no one else really is. Throw Kasper up there and he might get something going for a couple of the other guys. It's tough though because his line has actually won their matchups consistently and looks like they should be on the verge of a break through.

Watched a lot the Ducks and Sharks games: Kasper is driving play extremely well for a rookie. Points aren't always going to come, but I have confidence in projecting that he COULD hit 60+ points in a season if paired with more talented linemates who can finish on a consistent basis. Solid solid eye test player so far.

Kasper was between Tank and Kane, not Cat. Cat was playing the top line but it was DBoss and Ray that were doing most of the work. Both Tank and Kane were too slow for Kasper, and yet somehow Tank gets promoted to top line? LOL. Maybe they're trying to get him going.

Looks like Joey is gonna be the healthy scratch, it really should be Compher. I even broke down his shitty play on the GDT. Fester sucks, but at least he did something. Last 9 games have been horrendous, I broke down the stats earlier.

Watch this guy shift when he has the puck. He just dumps it in and sets the next line to chasing to the point of frustration. He doesn't hound a puck in the O zone, back check or play D. If his jersey didn't say KANE on the back of it, he'd be in GR or the wire.

There is nothing in the CBA against cloning, but the question is if the team retains rights to his DNA since that is not part of the SPC. Also current cloning technology is limited to zygote, so we'd be waiting 18 years (plus 9 months of incubation) before the player is ready.

In any case, I'd clone DBoss instead. The roster would consist of 23 DBosses, with the fastest goalies in NHL history.

He had the ugliest hand writing I had ever seen at the time, so I asked him, "Are you sure you are not left handed?", and he actually was. Back in the day when he grew up, left handed writing was a sign of being possessed by the devil.

It doesn't matter that much in hockey. Plenty of players who use their weak hand, myself included. I think you will find that a good amount of the right shooting forwards who scores a lot of goals are dominant on their right hand.

It is something that is done in baseball training all the time. Hence switch hitters.

Kasper is looking more and more like a stud. Was all over the ice last night, that line really deserved a goal.

I know I, and others, in this thread have been saying this for a while: the beauty of Kasper is that he does everything right. I know we're focused on the offensive upside, and truthfully, that is still a bit of an open-ended question, but it's because of his attitude, all the small things he does every game, that he is the cliche "he makes players around him better".

He is dogged in his pursuit of the puck, forechecking, backchecking, fearlessness to charge right into the slot, he;s got great skating. doesn't shy from contact and loves to take the body, he's got good skills, and likes to bang around the crease, and he's smart. Regardless of anything else offensive around his shot, etc. this is the kind of guy that you want because he makes so much more happen for his line mates. He is a lot more crafty in his scoring than a lot of people I think give him credit for and his shot isn't half bad, he's going to become at least a 35pt+ player who brings all of that I mentioned. That's happening. The question becomes, how much more can he climb beyond that? 50? 60? Unsure but we have someone you absolutely want as part of this core.
